In today's market it is cheap, imagine how much money they will make on shirt sales and merchandise. He will still be a top player in 4 years time, especially in the Italian league It’s not just that. Juve sponsors get a massive kick which trickles down to juve. It’s a relatively cheap deal in the circumstances

What a deal by Real Madrid. Bought him for £80m:
451 goals in his 438 appearances La Liga: 2011–12, 2016–17 Copa del Rey: 2010–11, 2013–14 Supercopa de España: 2012, 2017 UEFA Champions League: 2013–14, 2015–16, 2016–17, 2017–18 UEFA Super Cup: 2014, 2017 FIFA Club World Cup: 2014, 2016, 2017
FIFA Ballon d'Or/Ballon d'Or: 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017
Sold him for £108m.
Don't see where Juve have had this money from, to be honest, but as with all things Italian football, something fishy will have gone on.

Makes sense for all parties for a team like Juve to take him on rather than a Premiership team.

According to some in various 'media'(!) - £26m/year or £500,000/week or £73,000/day (for a 7 day week) - all figures are only 'approximate', of course! .

But De Laurentiis told La Repubblica that "Ronaldo was also offered to Napoli".
He added: "[Jorge] Mendes, his agent, called me. We formulated our offer and would have paid Ronaldo with the percentage of the income guaranteed by his arrival.
"[But] the €350million that Juventus invested [including wages] is beyond our reach. We would have risked pushing the club towards bankruptcy."
350 Million, that's a lot even if it is Ronaldo

How long to make their money back then? Fuck me. If the shirts sell for the same price as they do over here, say £40, that's nigh on £21million they've made back in a single day.

Apparently the money clubs make off shirt sales isn't anything like what it's perceived to be.

Had a look on their site - a shirt with no name on it is €89 so around £79 - so it'll be more than that for name and number on the back. They also sell an "Authentic" jersey which is €129
