Nice to see Aluko rubbing people up the wrong way again, horrible person What did she say? I got Costa in the sweep they don’t look bad but no cutting edge. Basically tried to contradict everything that the other people said just for the sake of causing friction

What a fucking strike that is. It was a quality strike but who was the pussy on the end of the wall who ducked out of it? If the wall jumps and protects their faces with a hand, I say no goal and self defence so no infringement. However, stunning free kick.

Mitrovic, skin tone aside, reminds me a lot of Jonny Walters. Not the greatest footballer but a very committed player who makes life really hard for the opposition. We really missed that last season.

Really impressed with Serbia. Going to give anyone a game I reckon.

Taken one for the team. Complete fanny. Sure - but there's no need to - seems pretty basic to me. In addition, put a man on the near post and no goal - unless of course he shrinks out of the way. I just don't understand why they don't do it as a matter of routine. The same would have been true of Ronaldo's goal v Spain. Terrific free kick, but a man on the post would have cleared it and Spain get 3 points.

If you put a man on the post you can then just stand in front of the keeper. It's not really an option.

This is the Mitrovic I know and I don't like!
Shows what can be done in the Champo though compared to the PL.
Which is good for us.

Trouble with that is it allows the attacking team to fill the box and stand right infront of the keeper completely blocking his view. If the wall does it's job there it's no goal. Corner at worst.

Fair point and I assume that is the thinking, but I also suspect that if the defender stands behind the line (ie inside the goal), then at the point of contact the player standing on front of the keeper would be in an offside position. However, that is only a guess.

Ok he missed a couple of chances but he led the line with great quality, occupied their defenders and ran himself into the ground in the process. He was hugely influential and vitally important in getting the space in which the superb milinkovic-savic could operate.
