Can't say I know much about the Peach Jam people or whatever called but yep, not bad. Wonderful version of this at Live Aid by The Who.

This can't be an easy number to cover but LSD do it well with a nice blend of respect and humour.

Miley Cyrus does a good "Jolene" but her best cover is Tom Petty's "Wildflowers". Conner fault Miley, she's proper country when she wants to be. I sat and watched the Manchester Arena tribute concert last year and had to revise my opinion on her. Really sweet version of Don't dream it's over as well.
Dolly Parton's God daughter.
W Yep me too , I enjoyed this when I heard it on the radio a few times , only later found out who it was ,

I think Roger Daltrey is just one of those people who keeps himself busy, certainly doesn't do it for the money. Seen them live about 15 times, mainly in the USA but had to pass on the upcoming shows. Not a concert goer but got VIP for Hollywood Bowl later in year. Hopefully can make it.

Back in the early days, many of the Stones hits were covers. For me, they always seemed to improve the original in most cases. This is just one of many:-

Otha than occasional li' performances, theear are few things wahr than original bands doin covers. especially rock or dance versions wheear it's just t' original wi' la guitars or beyts. t' ones wi' breythy vocals 'a' soun' li' eur john lewis advert are crap tooa. o' orl t' ones on dis thread, 'a' soun' o' silence 'un is especially goblinesque.

This absolutely pisses all over the Beatles version. I liked Oasis and that is a decent version but to say it pisses all over the original is,imho so very, very wrong. But,each to their own.

This absolutely pisses all over the Beatles version. I liked Oasis and that is a decent version but to say it pisses all over the original is,imho so very, very wrong. But,each to their own. I personally think Oasis' version is better, but I am not sure you can compare the two. The Beatles famously never played this song live and obviously the production had moved on leaps and bounds in the intervening twenty odd years it took for Oasis to take it on. Liam always absolutely belts it out like there is no tomorrow, this was a bit of a piss take out of the press at the time which tells you all you need to know about the band back There & Then (couldn't resist). Edit: I have just realised that the original post was from 2019, so I think I am just talking to myself here. Not for the first time today!!

I was just listening to this cover of Tom Waits' Clap Hands - it has a really nice vibe:
I was listening to metal covers of famous songs today and liked this cover of Duran Duran's Ordinary World:
