At the moment i had posted it, he was having a mare. So you thought instead of giving him time to settle you'd rip into him on here? How's that play out for you? I didnt rip into him. I just stated some facts

From what i saw the lad started off quite nervously but grew into the game and acquited himself pretty well, not bad at all, certainly not bad! Plus an assist (and what a cross it was) on your debut is superb. God the people on this board make me cringe at times. This. Started off a bit shaky but grew into it.looked decent and composed on the ball. Would like to see more of him next season.

45 minutes into his debut and you already felt qualified to have a go. Thank god the season is over and we don't have to put up with any more of your "insight" You've posted shite for the entire year but this tops the lot. I realy realy realy have to agree with this.

When I logged on here this evening I was expecting to see a thread about Sorenson but didn't expect it to be so critical! I thought he made an encouraging debut. Yes he made a few mistakes but it was good that he had the confidence to try things and the other players seemed to have some confidence in him. It's not often that Shaq will allow someone else to take a free kick. Perhaps he should have let him take the penalty as well!

Got potential for the championship, a steady game after being very nervous. The future looks ok for him.

He’s stood out playing for the unders so it was nice to see him perform even if it was in a meaningless game. I hope he sticks with us.

What a ridiculously pathetic post. I can't say I'm surprised in the slightest.

Nice one Lasse; shaky start but really grew into the game. 77% pass success rate, 2 key passes, more touches than any of our other midfielders and an assist. Not bad for an 18 year old making his senior debut Fantastic stats 👍 Agreed mate. He clearly has a lot to work on, especially the defensive elements of his game, but I thought he did really well. It's undoubtedly a difficult/strange game to judge anyone on because of the respective circumstances of the two teams but, for me, it was probably the most promising debut we've had from one of our youngsters for a long (long) time. For all the fuss about Ngoy, Verlinden, Campbell, Edwards and even Shenton, this guy seems to have gone under the radar a bit. Will be interesting to see if he can be one of the youngsters to break through next season.

Not really. He's been an unused sub for quite a few matches recently. He's also one of the top 50 youngsters in Europe for two years running. It's not a chart by the way, just a UEFA survey.

Don't see the issue here. Give the young lad a break, he's 18. How are we supposed to find the next thing if we don't expose the youth to this sort of level of game. Time to start getting ready for next year. Remember, Hughes got rid of the squad depth so unless we sign £100 mill worth of replacements, some of these youth players are going have to play. UTP

I think I meant compared to the volume of mentions and general buzz generated by some players. At the start of this season the talk was all about Edwards, Ngoy and Verlinden for example; don't recall Sorenson even being mentioned at the time. The young CM that got a bit of attention preseason was Jarvis. Campbell and Telford have generated a bit of buzz but haven't really made an impact as yet. Not saying Sorenson went unnoticed, just more that he's perhaps not had the attention that others have received. Not that it makes any difference mind

He's always had a fantastic range of passing but for me anyway has always looked like he needs a DM by him. He's not one to get stuck in or be aggressive. And obviously I'm not saying he's of this class or will ever be as good (I hope to God he will be) he reminds me of Busquets and how he plays the deeper role. It's more about reading the game and a fast transition from back to front with the ball. It's not about nurturing that and making sure he can adapt. Because if he plays more, he will be scouted and scouted by the opposition and he's a natural target for pressure. But a fantastic start and platform to build from.

I think that was what was most noticeable yesterday; he was quite impressive in just putting his foot on the ball and picking a simple quick pass to get the momentum moving forwards. It's nothing special or other-worldly, it's simple but is something that the team has sorely missed for a long time. Shouldn't read too much into it but it's an encouraging start for sure

Lassie is looking close to ready for the dogs' home that is Stoke's central midfield. An encouraging debut, with a few mistakes expected from a youngster on his first start, but far more positives than negatives.

I saw him telling Fletcher to press the ball which was pretty impressive for an 18 year old making his debut!
