Be a strange time to do it were it true. Quite apart from the fact there is 1 match left in the season Scholes remit is way wider than player recruitment, he oversees all the commercial aspects of the club which I would imagine includes season ticket sales and also facing off to disappointed sponsors/exec box holders and so on and managing those relationships so hopefully they are not lost in the brave new championship world. In short his in-tray couldn't be fuller. I would have thought to bring a newbie in to handle all of that at this difficult time would be a strange/brave/risky/unlikely call at this exact moment in time? For that reason I'm going to stick my neck out and say I don't believe it. On the other hand........ it would be a statement of intent to all those you mentioned. “We stuffed up. I own the club, so I am not stepping down but by gum, the incompetent operations people who caused this are gone. Please stick with us and we will be right back.”?

If this is true, and Momo reads this, we won’t be able to escape from the tsunami of seminal fluid that’ll erupt from his chopper. We’re all getting coate sed. Correction above

Is it a unique feature of this forum that you can post just about anything and still get lots of seemingly mentally stable people to discuss it like it is really going to happen?

However, those areas you highlight as Scholes' additional duties all appear to be failing. ST sales are likely to be down. I know someone with a box and they couldn't give boxes away for the Palace game. The commercial and retail side are utter garbage and more akin to a league 2 club than Pemier League. Perhaps Coates (Denise) has found him out. We can but hope. Take the fat goalie and mumbling Scot with you. Personally i think it's a great time to sack him. If the sponsors and co are unhappy then why give them more of the same? What better way to make them feel positive about future business ties than by sacking that incompetent waster and promising to bring in better. They surely won't accept MH or PL as scapegoats.

The only way I can see it happening is if it's been in the pipeline for months, and the change will happen - or at least be announced - once the season is finished. To be fair, there were a few article hinting that major changes would be made and recruitment would be looked at when Hughes went in January, and Scholes has been keeping a very low profile since then. Perhaps (just perhaps) this decision was made a long time ago and the transition will be a pretty smooth one? If that's the case, then you'd think 'The Family' will have identified their next CEO and install them quickly. All speculation of course, but not beyond the realms of possibility.

Scholes has said very little since January never mind since Saturday. He usually likes piping up.
You would imagine a CEO would have something to say about the club being relegated, yet nothing...

If this is true it would go a long way to renewing my confidence in the Coates family! I’d love it even more if it was Denise who has decided enough is enough and steps in to deliver the bullet.

I was told a couple of weeks back that Scholes had 'got the hump' as a result of perceived slights against him by the family.
These slights were detailed as incidents such as being told he could fly back from WHU with the Coates clan in their helicopter but then being told at the last minute that he must get the train, having his office moved, and not being invited to certain strategy meetings between Peter and John.
I was also told that Scholes was being marginalised in this way as a result of his voicing concerns about the appointment of Lambert.
This information came apropos of nothing and was proffered by a source who's very close to the club (and would have nothing to gain from sharing it). It's very interesting that this latest titbit should emerge as Scholes getting axed would tally with what has allegedly been going on.
The interesting bit however is two-fold; that Tone was opposed to the hiring of Lambert and that, if all this is true, the Coates appear not to like having their wisdom questioned (potentially suggesting that Lambo might be staying and that Scholes will be the actual fall guy).
Something's going on but I'm not quite sure what.

It’s makes no difference who the CEO is, the incumbent will always be unpopular due to them, essentially, being a mouthpiece of the board working towards a boards request for the club to be self sufficient.
What positive changes do people expect even if this rumour is true?

No, look at just about any social media and you see the same thing. In fact BS seems to be passed off as “news” by even formerly trusted mainstream sources!

I'll be honest, Not really!! Never had anything off him before Bit of a random one to be honest but thought i'd share it anyway. To be fair if it's true this will probably go down as the greatest ITK post in Oatie history I don’t see how Volvic gets any credit for this. Benji broke this story 32 years ago!

What positive changes do people expect even if this rumour is true? Maybe deals being tied up for first choice targets instead of them walking away due to our negotiator trying to be a clever twat, only to then go and sanction eye watering amounts on players that are third rate compromises.
