10 years ago I was still coming back to life after my accident so for me the promotion season and our first Prem season were incredibly personal - but a personal I felt like I was sharing with a stadium full of Stokies and the whole bigger family of us on here. I'll never ever lose that, and the unrepeatable spirit of how we were as a club and a team in the Fortress Brit era.
This season's been so damn inexorable that I can't muster a lot of anger, or not consistently. It's more been a feeling of not being able to believe it could really stay so crap (in that sense I do get PC's response, but he's club chairman, I'm not) and I just feel horrible numb sadness.
I so want to believe we have it in our DNA still to force our way straight back up - but tbh don't know how I feel about that either right now.

It was the working title of Jethro Tull's (difficult) second album wasn't it? Funnily enough I have a feeling "What's All The Fuss About" was one of the options Iain Anderson rejected. And you, good sirrah, should be on any self-respecting pub quiz team for the specialist 'pop' music round.
Unless you've completely made that up, I bow to your superior trivia database.
: ) Far too kind. As you might imagine, those long winter evenings simply fly past in the Str8 household.

Had a life changing event in October which put Stoke City into perspective. I still love the club with a passion but will not let it spoil what is in essence a good life. Was on a pre arranged cruise on Saturday so couldnt make game but have to admit to surprising myself with my acceptance (a little moistening of the eyes aside) When my wife and i went for a bite to eat i just broke into a rendition of City till i die in the corridor and burst out laughing

Remember our 98 relegation I was at uni in wales so watched the Man City debacle in a pub in Pontypridd on my own stoke scarf round my neck trying not to cry into my pint but we went on. The Icelandic take over a auto windshield win play off heart brake, and return to the championship. This is my third relegation since my first game in 89/90 and through all the heart ache moments of sheer joy it drives us mad it’s irational but players managers even owners come and go but we will always be stoke the club is ours. So heads up we go again I've lost count of the relegations! Started supporting the Mighty Red and Whites as a 7 yo in 1970 in Chester Therefore I have had 5 relegations 77,85,90,98 & 18 and 4 promos 79,92,02 and 08 Given the fact i was a `Glory Hunter` in 1970 the best i can hope for is relegations equal promotions but promotions can never win !

I can’t say I’m angry to be honest. It’s been coming for weeks, the draws have just been delaying the inevitable. People spoke a few weeks back about Huddersfield’s run in, Brighton’s run in and wanting Hughes to go down, I couldn’t give a shit about them. I only cared about our run in. Don’t care who goes down or stays up, all I care out is us. I’m not angry because it’s been coming, I’ve got no hate towards Lambert. I simply want the board to fuck off or buck their ideas up big time. But, it doesn’t matter what division we are in, because you don’t support a club for that and also, life goes on. If we were top of the league or bottom, life goes on and we have to get on with it.
