returning players: Ritchie, Mickey Thomas,Biggins,Hudson,Graham Shaw,Stein all successes as for Huth being slow Taggert was the slowest centre half ever (Wimmer not withstanding...) & was almost single handidly the reason Pulis 1st era took a huge upturn You're missing the point. The team above has 5 of the slowest outfield players, and an average age the wrong side of thirty. Madness. I'm only talking about Huth, who has been touted as actually returning there is no suggestion that the others are returning, so criticism of the potential signing of Huth because some other players (who aren't coming back) is madness

Great news if we could field something like Grant
Bauer Shawcross Huth Pieters
Whelan Ndiaye Adam
Walters Crouch Diouf we'd be well set for a promotion push and I'd actually like the team and want to watch it again. I've just thrown my Tesco Meal Deal up all over my desk. Not surprised eating crap like that!

I would love Huth, not just for the novelty, but he could still do a fine job in the championship. or as backup in the prem;)

So I wasn't criticising the huth thing either, I was questioning his logic. But hey ho...

Grant. keeper I have no idea how fast he is but largely irrelevant Bauer Rapid Pieters Rapid Shawcross mediocre pace Huth mediocre pace can run quickly when he gets up a head of steam Whelan never been fast, want him for know how not pace Ndiaye very mobile Adam never been fast want him to play gleghorn/Lawrence roll neither were fast Diouf Rapid Crouch pace is irrelevant to his aerial threat. sheringham was also slow and played into his 40s Walters. good work rate, not sure exactly how slow he is

Alot on here havent seen championship football in a while. Gerry Taggart did wonders back in the day but the championship is a more competitive league than the prem and isnt the place it once was for old retiring legs clinging onto a pay day.

Shawcross and Indi as first choice with Cameron and Huth as back up is certainly more tempting than Wimmer as a solution in my opinion! Sweeney and Souttar might be able to take the step up as back up as well, but I honestly know too little about the last two mentioned here. We also need to install more pace up front!

On a free I am told. Would be a good signing if we are down or not. Get Walters back as well, let’s get the band back together. Give it a real go to come back up. Great news if we could field something like Grant Bauer Shawcross Huth Pieters Whelan Ndiaye Adam Walters Crouch Diouf we'd be well set for a promotion push and I'd actually like the team and want to watch it again. That team would get torn to shit in the Championship. 4 of those players physically can't move and 3 of them can't kick a football properly.

If the club had anything about them they'd do some proper 'Moneyball' style research/scouting and find a 24 year old with the same character as Robert Huth. Johnny Tex was our experiment with that wasn't he?

No pace and no quality. Relegation fodder.

Think the Championship will be a reality check for some of these people looking down their nose at signing Huth. Just look at 37yr old John Terry, had a great season with Villa. And Huth is only 34, great partnership with Ryan and a fan favourite (or so I thought) and we know he has a solid character. A deal makes absolute sense.

And Huth hasn't played at all this season, if he had never played for Stoke in the first place would people be eager to sign him?

If as it seems we go down and he is fit comes on a lower wage Id take him real asset on and off the pitch as a squad player we will need a big squad for 46 ggames if we want to do well , would score more than any of our forwards at the minute too .

I would rather have a 94 year old, wheelchair bound, unable-to-wipe-his-own-arse Robert Huth in red and white than Fatty Spurs fan Kev "giving up" every time we let a goal in.

I think they be great guys to have around the squad. they are not ancient and look after themselves. There are a few people around here who have ridiculous expectations of who we can afford and attract in the championship
