www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/722451/artikel_hannover_ex-koelner-wimmer-im-fokus.htmlAccording to kicker's information, 96 came across an actor whom (still) manager Horst Heldt and coach André Breitenreiter had known and appreciated for a long time: Kevin Wimmer. Without mentioning the name of the player, Hanover's coach spoke of "good conversations" on Wednesday, which he, Heldt and Hanover's sporting director Gerry Zuber, had this week with a possible new signing. "We could probably convince him that he comes to 96," said Breitenreiter. The Austrian international Wimmer (eight internationals) has been on the sidelines for some time now in the relegation contest for the English Premier League Stoke City. The last league game denied the 25-year-old last January, since then not even counted to the squad of the current table penultimate, where he still has a contract until 2022. From his time at 1. FC Köln (67 league games between 2012 and 2015) Wimmer, who later reached Tottenham Hotspur to Stoke, is also known in Germany as faster, in the build-up strong central defender. Loan business with purchase option?
In Hannover, where theoretically still the last points for the league must be retracted, he could strengthen the team in the new Bundesliga season. If it comes to a change, it might be the last transfer, the outgoing manager Horst Heldt (together with Zuber before a change to Wolfsburg) would have threaded . To clarify would be the modalities: The transfer fee - possibly up to tens of millions of dollars - would be hard to handle for 96. A lending transaction with a call option could therefore be the more realistic option.

We should hold out for a three figure fee, once they offer £100 snatch their hands off.

We should at least get what we paid! Guesswork - but maybe the best we could hope for here is the loan mentioned with a view to them paying about a third of what we paid? Their current record transfer is Joselu for five million euros. And their current record sale is.......Joselu for ...eight muillion euros!

Loan, with them paying most, if not all, of his wages, with a view to buy, if by some miracle they like what they see, seems our best hope for Wimper. Get 40k or so of his wages off our books, get him out of the city, and hope they agree to pay about 5m for him next summer.
Damage limitation exercise - yeah, thanks, Hughes!
I wonder if they are in the market for a Burundi born front man?

Unless Tony has been dropping you a,few hints that you might want to share like .... There will be about 10-13 incomings this summer and although the calibre of player on the list drawn up is talented, I doubt it'll even get close to £18m. Our frontline will be dynamic and full of goals though, Darren Bent and a return for Cameron Jerome to lead the line with big Victor Anichebe ready on the bench to impact the game at anytime. I for one, am very excited about the summer window.

The Rothman's Football Yearbook for the 2041-2 season, with Stoke about to start their 23rd season outside the top flight, will contain the following statistic:
Record signing: Kevin Wimmer (18m from Tottenham in 2017).
It will be a quiz question that will fox all but the most nerdy of Stattos outside of Stoke-on-Trent, but we're not going to be able forget about this pavlova-munching waster for a long time are we.
