If we can get him to buy into the project, clear the decks, start again and build a squad to get us promoted, why not? Rafa slummed it in the Championship for a season! If there is a changing of the guard with young Master Coates taking over the reins, this would be just the statement of intent needed to get supporters on board. We are at least a five year reconstruction project because we will be basically starting from scratch. Ten years if we go down, again.

He was 'sold' on the project was he not but let minute change of heart due relegation clause?? Which allegedly reduced his salary , good move in his part now paid off by espanyol and new job somewhere on the money he wants . Go on boaed be brave get him and give him sales plus £30m You of all people know the track record of this board. Do you really think we will go back in for him. Not a chance in hell will coates dump lambert. He was hired with the championship in mind. They will stick by him as he has a track record in that division and he is the cheapest option. The trend of self sufficiency points in that direction. UNFORTUNATELY!!

It cannot really be too long until he assumes control, and the rumour was he was the one pushing hard for QSF in January.

If, in the event of relegation, PC stands down, then the possibility of sacking Lambert and going after Flores would be entirely plausible. Personally I think that PC will carry on in the Chair for at least another season. I also think that Junior has got "blood on his hands" regarding recent abysmal recruitment. Big sis has ruled that the tap has been turned off... Will he have the appetite for a long slog in the second tier with limited funds? New owners soon methinks.

If it came to ex Watford managers I'd definitely go for the fella managing Fulham tonight.
Too late now of course.

They both....went somewhere. Yes of course. After several years of relative success and then relative failure. That's the point. PC doesn't appear to do short term (in his autumn years)

I think that we would be in a worse situation now. Probably mathematically relegated. So you'd expect a manager who has won the Europa league with Athletico Madrid and managed Valencia to do a less of a job than bloody Paul Lambert?? 😂 Yes. His track record is very poor with English teams.

Jesus he will eclipse that this season with no issue ! you cannot compare Kamara's time against Lamberts ,Kamara bought in 10 players a week and still couldn't get it right ,Lamberts had to make do with whats there already ,compare next season once Lambert brings in his own players, we can all find a comparison on any manager if we want to
