As I am getting more and more into running i can see that stoke seems to have a few decent runners. Its a strange city really, half the people are cant be arsed saddos and the rest push their limits beyond necessary

One of the top local athletes on the circuit is a lady in the Vet 70 category by the name of Dot Fellows who runs for Cannock and Stafford. I've just found out that on the 20th October she ran 23:04 at the Walsall Park run which gave her an age grading of 101.5% which is now the new association record

GB team claims nine gold medals in the metric mile in Torun
In contrast, Richardson had to settle for second in Malaga and was out of the medals in the 800m. But this time he ran a much better tactical race, forcing the pace from the gun and then accelerating on the last lap he won in a fast 4:05.18, a second ahead of Juan Jose Crespo Rincon of Spain.
In the morning session, when Britain won successive golds at M55, M50, M45 and M40, one American was heard saying the land of Coe, Ovett and Cram can still dominate the metric mile, at least in masters terms.

Did anyone catch local Audley artist Ben Riley on The One Show this week producing a portrait in front of Brian May. He's got a real talent

Here's another good news story. Newcastle AC, young and old, have raised something like £70K over the years and now the Ashfields track is all shiny and new

Great listen with Mike last night. He said that he'd always eat the right sort of food and laid off the drink and kept himself fit. He must be absolutely superfit to do what he's done.
Spoke honestly about his depression after having to quit football after not recovering from an injury at the age of 29.
