For the FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea next month and possibly for the showcase FA Cup Final in May? He left us neck deep in stinking brown excrement and yet 6 weeks later we'll find him strutting around like a peacock in his best suit with his new charges at the National Stadium in Wembley. I know they say you should forgive and forget but I always prefer to hold a grudge

Hellu!
No problem with that at all. In fact, if he succeeds all the way, stays in the Prem League and gets Saints to Europe he'd proved a point - it wasn't him, it was the players here.
But to be fair: he shouldn't have experimented with just 3 at the back. Some top clubs in Europe can play like that, but not Stoke. We haven't got the material for it! That's why we're stuck with a shit goal difference now. And above all, don't experiment and change the defence line too much at all, it got to be stable. But again, we had many injuries and that when he managed Stoke ...

In football, failure gets rewarded.
What a cosseted bubble footballers and managers live in.
They should try the real world for a day.

I feel like I'm a landlord whose house has recently been utterly trashed by a tosspot tenant who has refused to pay for any of the damage and buggered off in the middle of the night without so much as an apology. I'm too broke to hire cleaners to deal with the squalor he left behind, so I'm sitting on a piss-stained couch, eating beans out of a tin, and I'm watching the news and they're carrying one of those feel-good "rags to riches" stories about my old tosspot tenant who has won the lottery and bought himself a villa in the south of France. I've thrown my beans at the TV.

Their match with West Ham is a lot more important to Stokies. Arnoutovic to the rescue.

All I care about is Stoke City FC’s well-being.
Football is fucked when all’s said & done. Average players earning millions and the merry go round of managers continues to reward failures.

who cares, but just to put the record straight he didn't 'leave us' he had no choice he was fired. I am sure given the choice he would have still been here.

In fact he’s neither of those things. Clearly the board of SCFC allowed him to stay too long, but that isn’t Hughes’s fault and really we did have some good times during his tenure ( the 6-1 v Liverpool and the ‘false No9’ in the demolition of both Manc clubs) As for him being a ‘shit bloke’ we’ll just have to disagree on that one.

In football, failure gets rewarded. What a cosseted bubble footballers and managers live in. They should try the real world for a day. Yes he had a very poor 12 months with us, that's for sure. But a successful playing career with Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Southamton Everton and Blackburn. Plus a successful management career with Wales, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham and Stoke City. So Leslie Mark Hughes OBE, in your opinion, is an example of a footballer and manager who has been rewarded for failure, are you being serious?

sick, sick, sick to the stomach ! es pecially after the cup displays he put us through. Yes, I forgot to add 'having orchestrated our own personal exit from this competition against a league 4 side only 10 short weeks ago' You'd have to be a saint (and I don't mean a Southampton fan by that!) not too at least bristle with indignation a little
