If like to see the second on TV I felt he should have come off his line . No chance with the first . Made a few decent saves but not a patch on keepers like theirs or De Gea I felt the same at the game. TV replays probably do him a favour.

Great saves tonight, stopped it being 8-0 I'd have saved everyone he saved tonight. In fact I reckon id have made less of a meal of them. First goal is a great finish. No criticism. But the second goal was woeful. He made it so fucking easy for Silva. Poor keeping in my opinion. Also he should have created holy hell after that De Bruyne challenge... He's too fucking nice

Has anyone been watching Nick Pope? He's done a good job, and Heaton will have to battle for the starting position when he returns.

Why the fuck are we so determined to talk down Butland's ability? He's not world class but he's as good as any other English keeper and he's ours so let's get behind him.

Having seen it again he should have done much better if he wants to be a top keeper he was the one who could see the move developing and in my view should been right on too of Silva. Their keeper would have been .

And this is why Liverpool would rather Karius than Butland

Woeful on the second goal. Said the same on the match thread. Should have stayed in goal for me. Would have given Bauer the chance to get a block in and wouldn’t have left the goal gaping.

There's a strange sort of deja vu about Buto - it's exactly the pattern we saw with Bego. Both had excellent seasons, got very highly rated and were subject to much speculation, then hit patchy form and by the time we come to flog them they're on a bit of a downward path... difference being that in the end we got a pretty crap price for Bego because of his contract situation - if 'pool are genuinely willing to part with 40m for Jack we need to snatch their hands off sharpish.
I do think Butland will be the #1 for the WC though, he's Southgate's man.

Harsh to say he was at fault for the first.

Jack is rapidly falling into the catagory of talking a good game and producing nothing but mediocrity on the park. Although his kicking was better, at least it was on the pitch for a change. I think he is already looking for his next club...

Never comes for crosses and poor kicking skills, we must be hard up in England if he's the best!

I'm not sure how to describe his attempt to stop their second goal. I'd call it the 'fairy jump'. It was lovely, it was almost like he was saying 'there you go David, score a lovely goal'

It was lovely, it was almost like he was saying 'there you go David, score a lovely goal' He was trying to make himself as big as possible. The mistake, if there was one, was in not getting out quickly enough. As an aside, Silva is a magnificent footballer and easily one of the best we've seen at the brit.
