Hughes odds on @ 2/5 to be new boss at the Saints The best we could hope for if the bookies are correct Where did that come from ? Ive seen 7/1 on oddschecker.

Think Hughes would do well there statistically we have now got worse since he left worse goal, difference and less points from corresponding fixtures . He is a proven premier league manager , we are hardly in a position to mock others managerial choices .

They've left it as late as they can, a complete last roll of the dice.

If you can watch our team play and say we're worse now than under Hughes then i'm utterly mystified. We're conceding far less per game and scoring basically the same amount. A reminder, that our last games against top 4 sides finished 3-0,5-0, 3-0 and 5-1. We have a small chance of staying up now. We had absolutely no chance with Hughes.

Hughes odds on @ 2/5 to be new boss at the Saints The best we could hope for if the bookies are correct The problem is, Hughes is a good manager when he inherits a solid spine and hasn't had a few years to completely fuck everything up. He will also have a number of players he actually wanted to sign for stoke in the ranks. Would be interesting to see how he would use them.

Fair play to them for making the change.
Could be their saving grace.

Let’s see what kind of ambition they show with their appointment. Wonder if they’ll stump up some cash and go for it, or do it on the cheap and hope for the best.
Wonder if they’ll sell their best player next season and replace him with a mannequin on a free transfer.
Looking forward to seeing how this pans out, they’ve got at least 3 points in the bag now they’ve sacked him which is more than I can see for us with the fixtures we’ve got coming up.

On the basis that he has never been relegated Robbie Savage is touting Hughes as an 8 game replacement. Bring him on please.

Mind you, he could feign passion about a wet fart.

With Silva ruled out, it's looking like he's definitely in pole position then. Very, very odd choice for a relegation battle

He was in a job when we were looking, wasn't he?
Completely different kettle of fish now he's a free agent, even Coates would have had him if he didn't need to fork out any compensation!

I hope Hughes get`s the job , that`s them fucked. Just one spot left now. Southamptons squad is arguably much better suited to what Hughes wants to play. I could see him keeping them up quite comfortably. Hughes had made it hard for himself here in the end, although it would have been interesting to see how we would have lined up with the signings we made in January under Hughes.

Surely Silva’s a better fit for their normal MO than Hughes?
