We are planning a trip up to Wigan as there is an abandoned theme park there.

Just be careful you’re not done for trespassing or breaking and entering.

There are lots of internet sites that cover the subject - the 28dayslater site listed above is probably the best. I work in abandoned buildings all the time, and as Dutchpeter says, take care if you are going in 'unannounced' as they can be very dangerous - not just the structures; I've run into plenty of drug addicts, cable thieves and other charmers unexpectedly. Also your cat story might buy you a very little time with the Old Bill, but is unlikely to wash with a nervous, poorly-paid private security guard who has just unleashed his fierce dog right around the corner from where you are .

Dunno if its open, but there's quite a large house on Keele bank that's been empty forever and the drive is all overgrown - I've always wondered what's gone on there - looks a nice place.

Think he was banged up for drugs related crimes. There is a big fuck off fence all the way around by the woods and fields.

Old pot banks, hospitals, factories etc My lad and me went into the Spode factory from the Kingsway entrance a few months back, wandered through the place unchallenged, plenty of old pot bank stuff still lying around.

There's a few videos on youtube of some lads getting onto the old Corrie set, quite harrowing seeing it empty. They left it in a right state too.

I know this might sound daft but have you ever thought of asking the council or local estate agents if they have any derelict buildings etc that they would let you in in exchange for a copy of your pictures maybe the council will put on a exhibition for you and they can use the pics to try and get funding for conservation projects or document local history before its demolished

I was over at Dimmings Dale this afternoon and took the route up towards Alton to get a good view across the valley over to the towers. I discovered an abandoned caravan park. Does anyone know it's history?

There is an old 16th century farmhouse in amongst the 1st avenue estate in Kidsgrove, it was undergoing major refurbishment, and after 2 previous arson attacks, 1 on the house and 1 on the barn, the barn was just nearing completion again only for little bastards to totally burn the barn out again at the weekend. That would have been good.

If you're looking for dereliction in Stoke on Trent look no further than Middleport. Lots of old derelict pottery buildings there.
Also the old railway line/cycling path running through Cobridge Park all the way along to Moorland Road has some great scenes of dereliction.
Continue across Moorland Road to the site of the old railway station in the park..then across Hamil Road to one of the worst areas of dereliction in the Country.
With a football pitch in the middle of it.
