You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think we'll get 12 more points. 4 of the games left are nailed on losses. Funny in it 😂😂😂😂 we would be lucky if PL gets 12pts during his entire contract. No, it's far from funny. It's a scandal.

We have a chance. With a bit more luck we'd be in a much better position Fat Charlie scores the penalty or the rebound, Butland saves an innocuous cross and that's four more points and mid-table mediocrity 😢

Looking at the next two weekends if we beat Southampton and results elsewhere go our favour we could still JUST be out the bottom 3 come the citeh game. That’s a massive confidence boost because we don’t play til the Monday and we know that an expected defeat could still see us out the bottom 3.

Let's face it Hughes has left us in right mess. Big money signings we're paying a fortune to not even good enough to get in the squad. Fucking scandalous the club left it as late as they did to fire him. Now, from what I've seen there are lots of positives, one defeat in five, defence looks better, stopped shipping in goals, more effort from the players. Even if we stay up, and I think we will, the damage Hughes has done will take a long time to put right.

Disagree mate. There was an element of bad luck in conceding yesterday wasn’t there? Take CM out of the equation for not tracking back and that whipped in cross could have deflected of Jack into a dozen different places but bad luck conspired to deflect it into the net. You make your own luck is something often spoken by pundits, I would agree with that but confidence will help that happen. That's not bad luck, that's lack of ability from the footballer, pure and simple. Actually it's the complete opposite of what you're suggesting ... We were very LUCKY to get awarded a very soft penalty right at the end of the game that a lot of other referees wouldn't have given and then we immediately got a SECOND piece of luck when the goalkeeper's save of a rather poor penalty resulted in the ball landing a couple of yards off the goal line in the centre of an open goal and we STILL couldn't score, that's not being unlucky, that's being just plain rubbish. We could go on ad infinitum bad luck/good luck/lack of ability. But the peno last week was not soft as you suggest. It was a blatant off the ball shove in the back. But that’s the only thing the ref got right because there was massive encroachment into the area by two defenders before the kick was taken, giving the defender momentum to catch Charlie, and then the defender flattened Charlie from behind for what shoul have been a second penalty. Agreed Charlie should hav3 buried the rebound but he was definitely fouled by the defender.

We still dont create enough look at the last 4 or 5 games and we havent had 10 good chances, in fact the only chances of note are the goals we have scored.
We have to create more.

If we take points from Saints away and win the 3 winnable home games vs Everton, Palace and Burnley, I think we stand a decent chance.
If we go down it is because of Hughes. We gave Newcastle 6 points, Palace 3 points, West ham 3 points, Huddersfield 1 point, Brighton 1 point, WBA 1 point, Bournemouth 3 points, all under Hughes, when we should have won them. Even if we'd won 1 or 2 of those games we'd be in a far better position.

THAT penalty could well be the difference between staying up and going down. That plus Butland’s gaff cost us 4 points, which means we need at least 11 points form the remaining games instead of 7. Doable, but no room for error.

Stoke being Stoke i wouldn’t be surprise we might sneek a pt against Man City. I’ll be there and never seen them lose in the league.

But after another game when we've thrown points away with another sweet surrender I sit here wishing I was lucky. But I still believe somewhere somehow, even if it's with a little help from our friends we won't shed a tear at the seasons end. Sorry I can't be arsed any more this is silly who knew Marti Pellow was a potter If he is, I hope for his sake he is back on the old Heroin.

11 points should do it.
I think the best option is continue grinding out point by point by keeping things tight which we are doing and hope we can get a couple of wins at home.
