Sadly I've already resigned myself to the club being relegated.
As the season has progressed I've become ever more angry, annoyed, dejected, despondent, frustrated, and above all downright furious at the arrogance, ignorance and sheer incompetence of the Board as they've sat and watched (or maybe even steered) the club's slow, steady and now seemingly inexorable descent into the Championship.
The whole club is stale and rotten, and needs a complete overhaul in the summer from Board level downwards.
I really hoped for a win today, but realistically I knew we wouldn't do it. Paul Lambert won't be able to keep this shower up. Coates recent statement about trying really hard (and failing dismally) to bring in a much needed new striker just sums up what an absolute shambles the club has become. The decision to keep Hughes last summer just epitomised the Board's arrogance and incompetence (we've had "blips" before so we'll be okay this time as well) and their steadfast reluctance to sack him long after it was plain for all to see that he was incapable of turning things around.
Lambert seems a decent man but he is a cheap option and will presumably be retained next season for the Board's no doubt expected "promotion challenge" (which will also be done on the cheap) which will also fail miserably.
I'm finding it harder and harder to have any real hope or enthusiasm for any aspect of the club at the present time. After having supported Stoke City for 54 years ( and hopefully many more still to come !) I find it really disappointing and infuriating that the Board have allowed this to happen.
I know that in theory we can still avoid the drop but looking at our remaining fixtures it's looking less and less likely with every passing week.

One bonus.... At least Pete Crouch may be fit for the next game 8-0

Coates should have sacked Hughes in May. End of Coates should have sacked himself in May

I briefly thought we might have turned a corner when we beat Huddersfield, but it looks like it was a false dawn. Liam Lawrence bemoaned our lack of a match winner the other week and he's right. It's killing us not having a Fuller, Beattie or Arnie, and we aren't hardworking or organised enough to do a Burnley to better teams. We are a nothing team, I'm afraid.

Hughes has been allowed to take us down - got away with it last season - found out big style this season....too little too late......and the saddest thing is that it was all avoidable.....
All those ostriches both at the club and on here also complicit......

Complete and utter shambles. Back to the circus our great club was always known as.
I think I will be done after relegation. Call me what you want but I’ve done my time going shit holes for over 30years seeing us in the Prem was a dream but to succumb to such shit and serious Mis management with ALL that money is nothing short of a disgrace.

Arnie Arnie Arnie.... I could weep. Looked like a special player on the MotD highlights for the Sham. Okay, we should have not sold him. But he wanted to go and may have gone AWOL if we hadn't. Shame really as I always loved watching him - even when he was in his many impetuous moods. Shaq stepping up has softened the blow somewhat, but we miss Marko's strength and ability to turn a game on its head, even with little-to-no space to work with.

Ive decided that every game is winnable. Over optimism at this stage. But we have 11 games and until it is completely mathematical that we will not survive we as fans must believe. Everton not good on the road, palarse could struggle . Hopefully Swansea will be safe and thinking of cup games and the big teams thinking of Europe and some of their superstars taking it easy in case they get injured before the world cup. Anything can happen.

I've been away for the last month and not back in the UK for another 2 weeks and I'm sure it will be all over by then, but the pain of seeing the club implode is just as sharp. I've watched the shambles of recruiting a new manager from afar with incredulity but it was par for the course after the last few years of dithering and gross mismanagement of the club, amateurish doesn't come anyway near to explaining it. Its all been so predictable and obvious that it was coming for 2 years if you had a lone working brain cell. I'm angry and depressed that such a promising phase of our club has been squandered in such a passive way. Scandalous.

There was a once in a lifetime golden opportunity to buy quality players to bolster our squad. We continued to be small time penny pinching pricks. Unforgivable.

I think we may well finish bottom now, the players looked gone to me yesterday. Quite frankly with how the club has been managed at every level over the last few months we really deserve nothing less.
As far as somebody saying above that we have a good few days to plan for the next fixture, well according to PL we have been doing double sessions & 6 day weeks already & we look as bad if not worse going forward than we did a month ago, we are not going to collect many more points punting the ball as hard as we can in the general direction of the opponents goal which was pretty much all we did yesterday, was amazed the ball was on the grass long enough for Shaq to get a shot in ( our first on target of the afternoon? is that right? ).

Sums it up today...Butland ready to clear...Not one Stoke player tried to push up..just slowly walked..Sorry but you can't polish a Turd... Saw that too, Rutland kicked and it went straight together keeper if I recall

Picking holes in yesterday's display is like shooting fish in a barrel.
It's unbelievable what we've degenerated into - an absolute shambles. I really can't believe there's a team worse than us at the moment. Twentieth is very much on.
Can't-be-arsed Choupo drifting in and out of the game, the quality-free zone of Mame (and worryingly he's the best, indeed only option, we've got), and Shaqiri floating around wherever the hell he wants to go (he spent half the game playing in midfield).
Is Lambert okay with him doing whatever he wants when he wants? This formation doesn't give him carte blanche to wander aimlessly chasing the ball, but he does it anyway.
That lot aren't going to win us many more games.

I could understand if the players are giving their absolute all, but when you’ve got the likes of Choupo just ambling round the pitch making half-arsed efforts and pulling out of any sort of physical challenge then it really makes me see red. Diouf is the best option we’ve got. Why we didn’t move heaven and earth to sign another striker in January is beyond me. Berahino still looks overweight. We’re going down with a wimper and it’s utterly depressing.

What's more depressing is reading this board and posts like this. We were VERY unlucky not to win yesterday In the end and in the games since Lambert has took over we have looked much better. I'm positive we'll stay up.

I am as realistic about our chances of survival as the next supporter but football is one of the least predictable sports on this planet. I'm not suggesting for a minute that turning our season around with 11 games to go and with the squad of players, a new manager and a board that by all accounts is all at sea, will be easy or even possible.
BUT - we supporters should get behind the team and hope that we do sort out the malaise that has developed throughout the club in the past 18 months and not just abandon all hope or look for scapegoats at this crucial stage.
We have 11 games to go and we can, on the day, get a result against anyone of the teams before us (except Arsenal away it seems) so until it's mathematically impossible to avoid the drop let's get behind the team and believe we still have a chance to stay up. I'm not deluded or an ostrich. I agree with most comments on here about why we are in this position and we can justifiably point the finger of blame at the team, the manager and the board. But what good will that do? It is clearly up to the Club to sort itself out but the supporters need to give everything they can to help them. Goaarn Stoke!
