It got Hughes the sack, maybe Lambert wants the same? I'm not always keen on Crouch starting but are we really blaming Hughes getting the sack on that? He reverted to him and we got worse. So yes it played a part. Like it did when TP did the same.

Could be just the lucky break we need in terms of the manager stumbling on a team that actually wins a few games. Here come the anti Crouch agenda gang. How inevitably trdious I don't care how or why he doesn't start and if I get my wish I'll happy be labelled anti anything. I couldn't really give a shit. Crouch starts we don't win and we simply have to win tomorrow.

Crouch starts we don't win and we simply have to win tomorrow. Diouf starts we don’t win which is why Crouch replaced him. Why justify your irrational dislike of this player with spurious logic.? You’ve never liked him as a player. Fine. It’s an opinion but your justifications are all bollocks and in football terms utterly clueless

I love how this shite is becoming gospel . Lambert appears to know what he’s doing and he wants Crouch in his system. You and a few others don’t The jury is definitely still out on Paul Lambert.

Crouch has been a wonderful servant for us, but if the niggle gives Lambert the clarity of thought to pick Diouf I’m happy with that....

Think Diouf would've started anyway. But could be a bit of a chance for Campbell on the bench if he's out? Should be a straight shootout between Campbell and Berahino. Let's hope they had a penalty shootout in training for the place. In which case round of applause for TC Saturday.

Diouf will be first choice. He was— until Lambert replaced him with Crouch as indeed happened under Hughes. Why is that I wonder? Because Diouf was rested last weekend.

Crouch out = Campbell on the bench
Diouf will miss 7 sitters, then be subbed off. Campbell will come on and bang in the winner
He goes on to score 10 more goals and keeps Stoke up
The end

Diouf came on in 82nd minute, we'd thrown away a lead and conceded 2 goals. Diouf has 5 goals despite playing less than 10 games as a centre forward. Diouf is the best of a bad bunch. I understand it's difficult to read any type of criticism about your son but you need to get over it. Crap, ineffective players who don't score goals and help gift one to the opposition generally get criticised. It's the nature of a messageboard I'm afraid. If, at any point, your son decides to have a good game, he'll quite rightly receive some plaudits.

Burning question, what’s an ankle infection?
Has a sheep tick attached itself to his ankle? Has a winter mosquito bitten his leg as it sticks out of the duvet? Has it swelled to the size of a twiglet?

What the heck is an 'ankle infection' ? I can imagine you might have a cut on your ankle which becomes infected but an 'ankle infection' ?

Maybe. Ultimately that depends on what plans Lambert has with Jese. He could be our surprise packet for 60-70 mins. He was played as a winger by the previous manager, but in the past he played in the middle with Real sometimes - mostly as sub tho.

Crouchie is great but he hasn’t scored this season when he started. Diouf for all his faults should be up front either him or Cheapo - not great but the best available options.

because he's too slow, and defences just push up and we have no pace to exploit them, and not enough quality in the middle to pass around them. Agree . I’m Happy to see crouch play the last 20mins every week , better against players that have been running around for 70mins.

Nah should have gone at the end of his initial contract better still never have signed him. Always been too slow and too weak for the way we’ve tried to use him. Him being there has always been a comfort blanket our managers have turned to instead of making a determined attempt to find a realistic answer to our striker problem. We just keep going back to something that’s been proven time and time again not to work.

Neither do I, but I'm not revelling in the fact that one of our players is injured. Just saying what he feels I'm sure there's no ill will towards Crouch it just makes you feel more positive knowing we're not going to be watching him and the shit football that comes with him. I feel exactly the same and I'm sure there are plenty more that do, after all its the definition of stupidity to keep doing the same thing expecting a different outcome. I thought it wouldn't work when we were linked before we signed him. After his first season I knew it didn't work. Yet here we are god knows how long and three managers later and our latest manager has decided to start him for no plausible reason.

The Manager clearly thinks he does!! And the agenda monkeys have been anti Crouch ever since he arrived. I love Peter Crouch. But we've been at our best in that time when he hasn't been in the starting XI. Did Crouch not start in the 6-1 against Liverpool?
