no point blaming individuals at this point in time it's past results which have bought us here, will be very difficult for us now as every game will be tough and I'm not sure we have the steel for it.

Looking grim. Cant see anything from Leicester, Southampton and Man C games when we are set up like this and then we will be in deeeeeeeeeep crap. Well done decision makers at SCFC. Well done. I mentioned moneyball methodology was a one off due to outstanding leadership not cyber metrics etc...... Think we'll get a point at Leicester and Southampton - can't see us getting more than 35 though? Wow. I'll have one of what you're having mate. Applaud the optimism though.

So the players don't know in advance who is the #1 penalty taker? That's weird.

Its touch and go now and we are really in dire straights...we can't score if we played for 3 hours a game..its finally come home to roost ..our very poor transfer team and CEO and the belt tightening excersises . If you don't strengthen when you are 9th there is only one way to go..and it aint up.

My mates a Hudds Fan, (I live in Haworth, West Yorks these days) me and him have been giving it the doom and gloom and he made a good point saying that pretty much every team from 13th will be feeling much the same...it ain’t over until it’s over.
Just 4 points separate 13-19th place!
So it’s probably gonna go to the wire, last game of the season and if you look at our last two games (Swansea away, Palace at home) it would be foolish to give up hope yet.

You can bet your bollocks they'll look to do us for pace behind the fullbacks if we play 3 at the back, and i bet it'll work every time. I'd love to see Campbell come on for 30 minutes. Must be 4 at the back. Must drop Fletcher, Must be no Wimmer, Must be willing to replace a tired Shaq around 70 mins with Sohbi and make use of all subs and we're in with a shout That said, I still think we'll get something *if* we can dictate the game. 1-1 or 2-1 either way Have you been away for a while? No suggestion of three at the back whatsoever. Fletcher was dropped last week,Wimmer hasn't even made the bench under Lambert. As I was saying, I counted 9 times they got in behind the fullbacks, including for the goal and 3 times in the first 3 minutes. Oh, and fletcher...

Whinge trigger warning:
- Erik: Really grew into that game, he got a lot of stick for playing the ball back but really, what was he supposed to do, there was no movement from the front line (Much worse in the first half)
-Fletcher: Time to retire.
-Lambert: If Lambert is taking charge of coaching then I'd love to know what he's coaching them. The basics weren't evident today. A total failure to grasp phases of play, not footballing triangles which disappointed because these were shit we should've passed them off the pitch.
- Selections/shape It's evident from his first game in charge play 442 It works. Fletcher/Berahino was the right choice but it's really just mopping up your own shit.
- Desire: Ndiaye, Shawcross, Joe, Erik, Bauer, Shaqiri (in parts) All put a shift in and showed desire to win the ball and get forward The others were either off their game or cowardly - I noticed Jese duck out of 2 succesive challenges.
-Ref: Was generally poor. I thought the penalty he gave was incredibly soft, but he missed a much more robust claim on shaqiri around 80 odd minutes.
-Pattern: They set up to timewaste and frustrate and nick a goal just like Watford and we didn't learn a thing. People all around were saying 'you can't blame lambert for this' I disagree, you absolutely can but the team have to take their fair share of criticism too theyre both culpable and should be called out.
-Penalty: I get the frustration, Jese is a better penalty taker than Charlie, but Charlie is the penalty taker - I worry what that little spat will do for morale going forward
That's up there in top 10 worst home games for me. It's hard to see a shitter team than ours at the minute and I just feel a bojan figure there couldve destroyed them today.
Bitterly disappointed...

Seems to be some 'supporters' thriving off the back of our defeats and draws.
Either support the club or not at all.

We are more likely than not doomed to relegation now. We are reaping what we sowed. Other teams have at least done all they can to get game changers in. We haven't. If we go down, that's why.

If it means a complete shake up of the whole of the Club from top to bottom, then so be it. One penalty miss today has not made our season, and yes we could still stay up but look at the overall picture of the team & club in general. Its a shambles, a team that could have been built on correctly but due to a combination of a previous manager/a pair of complete fuckwits called Scholes & Cartwright, and a general lack of proper attention by the board we are in a well deserved position Still, swop Burnley for Barnsley, swop Chelsea for Cardiff...swop Southampton (maybe) for Sheffield. It still won't diminish the love for the Club Ive had for 40 years, and it still won't stop me watching em through thick n thin. In fact, some supporters might be shocked that football exists in a world away from greed infused Premiership

I'm ever the optimist.
Today's performance confirmed we deserve to be in the position we are.
The team's performance was bereft of any constructive ideas and we were saved from defeat by a bit of individual brilliance.
But although we were bad doesn't mean:
1. We can't be better.
2. Lambert can't suss out a better team combination (there are plenty of ideas on Oatcake).
3. We can't stop throwing away games by not taking chances/penalties/letting in soft goals.
As I said after the Bournemouth defeat, Lambert is learning fast what doesn't work. Unlike Hughes he doesn't have any "holy cows" when it comes to team selection. He appears to be rotating some players, although it is too early to say. At least the team lasted the pace a bit longer today.
We are not expected to get anything at Leicester, so there will a lot less pressure on the side. Leicester have their internal dispute problems and have hit a poor run. They also have little to play for this season, and a Leicester side that are not inspired are a very average team.
NIL DESPERANDUM AUSPICE LAMBERT

For,some reason, the Stoke game isn’t available on the Optus App here in Aus (all the other games are...?!?!) so I’ve only seen the highlights. Those of us with over half a century of experience watching football will know the signs of a team that looks relegated and missing a penalty and goal line clearance in the last three minutes of a critical must win home game means, unfortunately, it looks like we will join Huddersfield and West Brom in leaving the Premier League. The only thing that can reverse our decline would be some unexpected points against Leicester and Man City. Other teams, Watford, Bournemouth, Swansea, have all managed it, but the bottom line is....
There are, unfortunately, 17 better teams than us in this league.

Hellu!
There is still a chance, but they should have bought a striker. It's the same song every year ...
Why getting 2-4 new defenders every season, when we had one (1!) shot on goal today?
