We play really well first half and then the lack of fitness kicks in, Bournemouth pissing it this half, we’ve burned ourselves out this half

Shocking game management even on the radio you could tell we needed fresh legs especially up top at 60mins

Crouch is still part of our problem.
Our ball retention is diabolical when he's on, it just gets knocked up to him and never sticks.
His flick-ons consistently drop to no-one.
And we don't produce enough quality into the box.
What's the point? I can't see what we achieve when he's on.

Starting Crouch every week effectively lost Hughes his job. We can't win games with him as anything other than a sub.

Rank bad management.
Kurt Zouma is a fucking calamity. Choupo-Moting plays well for 10 minutes out of every 100. Crouch doesn't score when he starts.

Poor quality in the middle. We harassed well first half but never really looked comfortable with the ball. Second half we didn't press and still had no quality. Stopped getting players around Crouch and sat deep.
Needed a number 10 in january and we didn't get one.

Lambert has cost us this game, without question. Why? What should he have done differently? We were excellent first half, we just needed to score a second when we were on top. We were on the back foot throughout the second half but I’m not sure what else he could have done.

Judging by the first half, a few jogs up Porthill Bank and we can be world beaters.

Second half was as abject as the first half was good.
So frustrating - didn't see that coming at all.

Diouf needed to come on at half time, we needed an outlet.

I thought Crouch was excellent, as was the first-half performance. We couldn't keep that pace up the whole match, and I'm not sure why Lambert didn't make changes earlier - but I'm not going to criticise. Fitness can only improve, and if we play like that over the next few games we should pick up a couple more wins at least - which would leave us on 30 points and around 8 games to go.

The fact that there is no quality within 50 yards of him with our midfield makes it more difficult to be a winger mind you.

Second half we looked like we have all season, relegation material. When you drop 12 points against Bournemouth and Newcastle you have to accept we're a poor side.

Had one or two things dropped our way we'd have won today, sadly they didn't, it was still a good performance though against a team who just beat Chelsea 3-0 at the bridge. Dust ourselves down and onto the next one, I don't blame Lambert for the result today.

The second half showing just sums it all up for me. Really can’t get the basics right in defence , not fit enough and lacking in conviction going forward. This ladies and gentleman is why the Championship beckons.

It’s exactly that kind of lackadaisical, “oh we’ll sort it out next week” attitude that’s got us into this mess in the first place. Diouf has pace, Bournemouth were pressing, his pace would have torn them apart and opened up gaps for us, starting a 37 year old lamppost is baffling, and to then not make changes when it was obvious to everyone they were coming back into it and we were tiring is unforgivable. This is completely Lambert’s fault, he’s made himself look a complete twat today and it’s left us well and truly in the mire.

Well if he's the only right winger we have we need a right winger instead of a number 10. He's our most talented player and we're shoving him out wide where he is very predictable. Stats show he's more productive when playing more central. 3 goals and 5 assists in 12 games compared to 2 goals and 2 assists in the same amount.

When has he played central? the 343 isn't really central, it's the same as what he'd do if we had attacking fullbacks. Add to that 10 of the 12 out wide were played with Crouch up front. Stick him right wing, put a striker who can move up front and have a number 10 and he'd be flying. Shaqiri Jese Choupo Diouf/Saido Tell them they can all switch roles throughout the game.

We were on the back foot throughout the second half but I’m not sure what else he could have done. He should certainly have been looking to bring on subs after 10 minutes of the second half. I'd have brought on Ramadan and Diouf for Choupo and Crouch, but almost any fresh legs would have increased our chances of a result.

Forget about Jesse, he's done. Based on anything in particular? Not being in the match day squad and having time away, his fitness levels will be even worse than the others, also for me, lacks the pace we need.
