Says Oliver Holt on today’s Sunday Supplement and follows it up with ‘Utd fans deserve better than that’. Ignoring the implied criticism of our style of play why the hell do journalists think that Utd fans ‘deserve’ anything in particular - because they haven’t got the balls to follow a local less successful team maybe??

When you spend £300m, it doesn’t seem unreasonable that you should produce some decent football.

Sucking up to the biggest audience. It's not his thought but the thoughts of online forums he's probably read. It would interesting to see if journalists read clubs forums and base their shit on what the majority are saying! Mourinho does not set his teams to play the 'Shit' way! Diddums!

When you spend £300m, it doesn’t seem unreasonable that you should produce some decent football. Maybe they should have a better team for the cash spent (they always look fairly good to me) but they ‘deserve’ nothing more than a bloke stood on a wind swept terrace at Chesterfield - rather less in fact.

Yeah, I don’t care about their fans one way or the other, but I can see why they’d want something bolder and more enterprising than what Mourinho is producing. Even if Citeh are on another level financially (and it’s ballsy of Mourinho to play that card when he has the most expensive striker in the league, the second most expensive player in history in midfield and is about to pay a player £450k a week), when you look at what a Spurs team that cost a fraction of that side can produce, or what Liverpool on their day can, you can see why the fans feel underwhelmed and struggle to take to the man.

Everybody on that Sunday Supplement panel is a Grade A C***
Only talk issues with the Top 6 teams anyway and their opinions are just ridiculously biased.

I don't like what he's implying by that comment and what's more, I don't really understand the comparison.
Manchester United are possibly the biggest and most famous football club in the world, and are performing about as expected whilst sat in 2nd place. Having said that they're a long way behind their local rivals despite spending obscene amounts of money, and they're not that exciting to watch.
...what the fuck has any of that got to do with us? Couldn't he have made the point without dragging our name into it with some vaguely negative connotation?
Luckily nobody gives a fuck what anybody says on that show, but still.

Oliver Holt is rightly very big on racism in football, Oliver Holt is a Stockport county fan, Oliver Holt had nothing to say about Jim Gannon being Stockport county manager I therefore concluded long ago he was a cnut.

I don't even know what he means - have we spent in relative terms as much money? does he think we play negative football - qunt was once an ok writer but now he is clearly just another pissed up/coked up wanker of a journo who isn't professional enough to actually keep up to date with any facts about the sport he purports to be an expert in. Th?e Shit are the prime example of the sort of "entitlement" that has settled over English football ( and this country as a whole for the "haves") since the inception of the Prem. Glory hunter fans and wank Facebook standard journalism.

Surely a better programme would be footballers commenting on the contents of page 3 of the sun and star.

Same shit different day. Much like the absolutely shocking Alan Shearer poke on yesterdays MOTD regarding Newcastle not having beat their transfer record since (M Owen 2005 £16m.)
Like it's a god given right. Brighton beat theirs, £14m this week, ours is about £18m, I'm sure Burnley, Huddersfield, Watford etc is all about the same.
What gives Newcastle fans the god given right to expect Ashley or anyone else to constantly beat their transfer record as a mark of progress and success? Deluded twot
