Is this an issue ?
some stats suggest it is
United Fans I spoke to today who were there said, we were decent first half but simply ran out of steam
is this something that really needs addressing ?
will Lambert recognize this and do something about it ?

I reckon he will be nice as pie with them this week as he seeks to galvanise them enough to win on saturday.
Then the hard work will start. I reckon they'll all go off to Dubai for some serious warm weather training and if there are fitness issues they'll be addressed in the 10 days post huddersfield and pre Watford.

Fitness is defintely an issue as shown when the fitness coach was fired with Hughes and Bowen. Normally changes in these backroom support positions are altered in the first weeks of a new manager.
I'm sure if PL wants to play a high pressing game as some suggest then he is aware fitness needs to be improved quickly.

When asked about fitness by Radio Stoke (who says they don't ask the tough questions?), Lambert said it was something he was yet to review (or words to that effect).

Sadly they will struggle to improve fitness within a month . Bollocks. A lot of it is a mindset. A lot of these players aren't pushing themselves. Changes to the coaching team, to their training routine, can have some impact in the short term too. A couple of intense training sessions and practice matches, where people start putting their foot in and tackling each other, will hopefully have an impact

I do think we’re unfit but the biggest problem is we concede so easily and early that we’re spending the majority of the game chasing a deficit. We make it easy for teams as we’ve been generally conceding goals for fun therefore they keep the ball and tire us out. Simple really. Massive improvements is needed in tightening up that defence but Lambo needs to bring in a midfielder that can dictate the play and tempo

Sadly they will struggle to improve fitness within a month . Utter tripe, Moyes did at West Ham. Stop being constantly negative on every thread man. From a physiological perspective he's correct, when you remove match days, pre-game rest, recovery etc you are given a very limited window to bring about any serious adaptation. It's why off-season work is so vital. 5 days in the Brecon Beacons running up hills will sort them out and maybe a weekend with the Paras or Marines Again off-season this type of team building is great but last thing you want to do is take the squad to run over treacherous terrain in the middle of the season, asking for twisted ankles and very little in return fitness wise. If conditions is lacking in certain individuals, I'm not saying they can begin to rectify this but smashing them for 5-7 days has high risk with little reward. And whilst I'm all for positive psychology and mindset, let's not pretend like you can think your way through physiological limitations. If your legs haven't got 90 minutes in them at premiership pace all the team building and angry soldiers in the country won't change that.

Our players have lacked decent fitness for at least 2 years. How many times have we taken the lead in a game then dominated and killed it off later in the game? You alway know with Stoke that a 1 or 2 nil lead is precarious as they sit back and invite the opposition onto them. It wouldn’t be so bad if we were dangerous on the breakaway but we just aren’t.

He has to , thankfully Moyes has shown it can be done quite quickly but our squad is older especially in Midfield so that will be a problem.

We're not fit enough, certainly for any type of pressing game, you can tell that with just your own eyes.
That's why I can't understand people wanting some of the old regime sticking around.
New broom, new ideas. Eddie may be a nice chap with a good reputation but he was also a massive part of the shit show we've become.

Noticed in his press conference that he wouldnt see the players who played monday until Thursday, surely 48+ hours rest is enough for professional athletes.
