I'm guessing high pressing, hard working football. 4231. Keep it narrow and hit on the counter?

He's said that we need to work harder off the ball, close down quicker and that he'll try and get us to play on the front foot.
Sounds positive.

His first tactic is to get on Expedia and get the cheapest airfare possible to Vienna for that Teletubby that's masquerading as a footballer.

Just heard him interviewed on 5 Live. Apart from all the standard things you expect a new manager to say, he seemed to be indicating we will press high.

Philosophy; German model of gegenpressing Sounds a tad Berghain! Here is a picture of a young man enjoying the atmosphere in the dungeon in the Berghain.

He changes system and approach depending on the opponent. So if you're asking for his philosophy it's tactical flexibility.

www.stokecityfc.com/news/zoumas-positive-impression“He’s a very, very good manager who knows what he wants to do. He’s very focussed on shape and us individually as players with the way he wants us to play,” the Frenchman said. “He wants us to run more and to press the ball, don’t be scared to play direct and shoot on sight as well as threaten the opposition. He has told us that we have great quality in the squad and there’s no doubt about that. We know we haven’t had great results before but he’s told us to focus on the future, starting on Saturday. It’s been a very good week of training. It was intense before but the session yesterday was certainly that little bit more high intensity, but very enjoyable. When a new manager comes in you need to be more focussed on what we are doing and perhaps take things more seriously, that’s exactly what we are doing in preparation for Huddersfield. It’s an important game and we are in a relegation battle, we need to get points and the manager is here to help us do that – but we as players need to help him as well.”

A clear shape and style for the team and more intense training sessions. Just what I wanted to hear, and the opposite of what we've had under the previous 'manager'.

So you believe Zouma when he says training has been a bit more intense but you don't believe him when he says "it was intense before but..." 'appen all he is reflecting is that the players have put a bit more effort into the sessions because they have a new manager to impress.

How do we play any sort of pressing game with our midfield options, unless we have three Joe Allens? Cameron needs to come in as one of a midfield three with Allen and a.n. other.

I guess this is why we are in for the Senegalese midfielder. For now, as you say, we need all to contribute, which maybe suggests places for the more hard-working Diouf and Ramadan. I'd love a fully fit Afellay in there, but he seems not to be close to a start of late.

Keep the grass long, sawdust in the corners, launch it towards a target man or into space behind and run like fuck all game. Stick it up 'em at every opportunity whether using fair means or foul. Stand on the touchline screaming like Detective Inspector Taggart with a face like a beetroot for 95 minutes. Headbutt the opposition manager like C.U. Jimmy.
For added effect, freezing cold water in the opposition showers and pump rancid smelling air into their dressing room along with Beverly Craven's greatest hits on repeat at max volume. Only Tennants Super available for their half time refreshments.

Monday - maybe a very light morning session before the game. Tuesday - off Wednesday - off? Thursday - training Friday - training I don't know when he was interviewed, but probably before training today considering he only refers to yesterday. Yet that was a very good week of training apparently!! My fucking arse.

Leicester won the league by being direct
Going forward under Hughes was always tough because it was way too slow and we didn't/don't have the talent to break a team down that's got numbers back and in formation
If we're looking to press and break up opposition play and hit them quickly i'm all for it

'It was intense before' smacks of 'I'd better not suggest that training was a doss in the past' and it's clear that they are being made to work harder. If there's not a clear difference, why mention this specifically? And was it only in the part of the stadium where I sit that people have been questioning what they do in training for at least two years?
