After yesterdays game Bauer looks an absolute steal at 5.5M, great going forward, blistering pace, recovers well
On the other hand, Tymon looked completely out of his depth, at fault for 2 of the goals, let Valencia come inside for the first and bad touch for the second

Everything they threw at us came from that side of the pitch, if Pieters and Sobhi were starting we’d have been still in that game at half time.....

A little harsh on Tymon. Thrown into the deep end against Manchester United with non-existent back up from Choupo on the wing. Stick Sobhi or someone who actually does his job when tracking back and he will do much better. Too fast to write off youth, especially at 18.

Agree but Bauer had Shaqiri helping (nice change)but Tymon was totally exposed by Choupo not tracking back at all. Fletcher tried a bit but the space was massive.

When Tymon signed the posters on here were happy that he was one for the future. He has talent and hopefully wants to learn from players like Fletcher (his knowledge of the game and teams players in the Premier League); Adam (attitude); Crouch and Shaq (explaining what forwards are trying to do and why) and learn the system that PL wants to use.
Bauer was a breath of fresh air but still has things to learn.
Playing against far better players (like they both did last night) is always a steep and painful learning curve but it is good experience if your attitude is right.

Watching on Sky it seemed obvious that MU had recognised a potential weakness and zeroed in on it. almost all their attacking play came from that area of the pitch. Felt a little sorry for the lad thrown into the lions den.
Bauer looked very good and promising. Add to that a fit Pieters playing as a good old fashioned full back and there is no reason why our defence can’t tighten up and start picking up points.

Was quite impressed by Bauer, but his true value will be shown against the teams around us.
As for Tymon, he's clearly not ready yet, not his fault at all but we need a left back urgently or we're going to continue to struggle.

I dont think it was that deliberate - Choupo's airy-fairy approach to helping out a young inexperienced player made it the easy option every time.

The young lad made mistakes, but I wouldn't write him off yet. As for the squad, therein lies the real problem. Lambert has a massive job on his hands. Good luck to him for taking it on!

Tymon is two years away from the first team and needs loaning out to some team not as good as Coventry!

I know Bauer hasn’t been at the club long but it looks like he’s been learning off Charlie how to win free kicks lol. He went down at the slightest touch loads of times to win some. Top lad 😂

To stop a player cutting inside is learnt at around the age of 10, this was also not his debut, 'ya tit'

Tymon clearly isn't ready and that was evident from his Hull performances too. It was always a daft decision not to loan him out from the off.
But he is a young player and is here to learn. Can he overcome these challenges? Does he want to overcome these challenge?
He's highly rated but hasn't shown why yet. But he has time. We've got to make sure we develop him in the right way and at the minute that isn't the Premier League.

Pejic didn't play till he was 19 and then not regularly till he was 20. It also goes to show how hard it was on Edwards, being thrown in against ManC for his first game. Tymon did play for Hull so he should know a bit more. We need to get a LB in his prime, loan Tymon to develop and use Pieters as cover.

It goes to show how good Edwards could be because he's miles ahead of Tymon.

Tymon was about the same level as Edwards in his two first, and already Edwards is a better player after five games. We need to see Josh after a couple of games vs less dangerous players. While we wait, I noticed Bauer did a stint at lb in the second half, not for long, but he was comfortable there. Perhaps we could play with Edwards and Bauer as our fullback pairing

Not writing Tymon off, just looked out of his depth, needs to be loaned out for a year or two to gain some valuable experience

Yes I was pleased with Bauer but he is not really better than the guy we sold to Burnley other than being faster and us as fans wanting one of our signings to be finally successful. On the subject of Tymon I think you are once again wrong. Tymon is just eighteen and making his debut in a great arena against a team with excellent players. He made a mistake yes and will learn from it but where was Choupo when this young man had two or three players running at him. United scored two worldies . I saw more resilience last night which was pleasing because we have got to improve defensively!

Because of his young age, Tymon is fully excused for not being able to tame a Man U side filled with talented players. But the answer is quite simple. He needs experience and that's why he should go out on loan and learn his trade against lesser sides than Premiership ones. I agree that Edwards has progressed more and from what I've seen of him he's one I would keep at home and give him cameo roles if/when we are in a position to do that.
I haven't seen anything of the game so I can't comment on Bauer. But judging from those who have, I'm looking forward to having a regular right back and not a makeshift one.
OS.
