If Lambert has any sense he’ll address our key positions that need sorting, left back, midfielder and striker. Berahino needs to show something before the end of Jan then gone on loan if not. As we need to go balls deep for a striker with the impact similar to Beattie all those years ago

New manager, clean slate. And hopefully Berahino will make the most of the chance he will be given

Anyone any idea what the problem is with Berahino. I've read of various:
1 Mental troubles 2 Just lazy 3 Drugs/drink 4 Or, as The Sentinel put it after the Coventry game 'a sense of entitlement' - to what I'm not sure 5 Something else
Anyone any insight?
He's got another five years at Stoke on a fat contract, but is there anyway Stoke could get rid under his contact and save five year mega-wages? There is presumably something about a player's behaviour in any footballer's contract.
As far as I can remember Newcastle and now Southend both managed to get rid of Nile Ranger (not that Berahino is behaving like he does).

They sent him to Wickes to get some tartan paint for PL's office. No one has seen him since. Don't be daft he would obviously go to a Scottish branch shop for that and it would take him a while!

I just don't get the whole saga about Berahino. I said this before we signed him and I'm still none the wiser.
If I recall he was in and out of the WBA team at the time Spurs offered £20mill for him. WBA refused to sell. Berahino went on strike. The following transfer window we reputedly offered £20mill for him - again WBA refused to sell - even though he wasn't playing. We were knocked back for a further transfer window during which he was pretty much sent to Coventry at the Baggies before finally landing our - ahem - prize a transfer window later at £8mill less than both Spurs and us had offered.
That West Brom would not sell a player for £20mill who clearly did not get on with the manager and was by all accounts causing trouble makes no sense. To hang on to him for a further two transfer windows as his value went down and was not playing either makes even less sense.
That we continued to pursue him is barking mad.
I remember the CEO at Saracens once saying that if there is something in professional sport that you don't understand then the answer is probably money. But in this instance even that doesn't clarify anything.

What the bloody hell as the lad done now Not even on the bench He was fit yesterday so he’s not injured Don’t suppose our Nige asked the question He was left out of the squad for turning up on Sunday as he genuinely believed we were playing on Sunday shows the total lack of respect and commitment to the club that a so called PRO can get it so wrong he should also be fined but at least he was dropped last night as some sort of punishment it would be funny if it was not so serious

I remember the CEO at Saracens once saying that if there is something in professional sport that you don't understand then the answer is probably money. But in this instance even that doesn't clarify anything. As I have posted on earlier threads, the answer is Jeremy Peace. When SB insulted one of the most vindictive chairmen in football, it was clear that Berahino would suffer. I made good money, betting that SB would not leave in the first two windows, when Spurs came calling. My winnings paid for my ST last season. Peace was not interested in the potential profit in the player, he just wanted him to rot in the reserves. Any ideas that Toxic Tone played a major part in Saido's downward spiral should be discounted.

Can we sue the baggies under the trade descrition act, they called him a striker? If we'd bought him online we could have sent him back no questions asked! dead right and Porto want seeing too whilst we are on. And as for spurs Buyer beware as they used to say at Wasses.

That's what I'm getting at. Just wondered if the wrong day saga is actually true and reported. If Eddie left him out of squad because he's toss then that's a massive statement. If it's the wrong day stuff then ... Jesus wept...what a knobend.

Lambert is our manager now and needs our support if we are going escape relegation. He needs the support of the board most importantly they have appointed him now they have to back him properly, the fans can play a part but if the players we have are not up to the job in hand it will make little difference, the board have spent months sitting with their thumbs up their arseholes whilst Hughes has destroyed the club, pathetic comments from Coates & Co have only inflamed the situation, they have by their negligence made our club a laughing stock.

Sick of people defending the lazy twat I can completely understand your point, I've been praying for him to come good. When he got that penalty against Southampton I was nearly in tears of joy, two minutes later I felt like he'd shoved a frozen turd in my ear, so I do share your anger. That being said we all know what Hughes was like, therefore I'm willing to give him one last chance and a clean slate for the new manager. We'll see ey
