I am 65 years of age and only played left back at the standard of the Potteries & District Sunday League. I have had a hip replacement and I haven't had an alcoholic drink tonight. I can safely say though that I could still play left back for Stoke tonight better than the left back who is actually out there.

He isn't quite ready yet but seems to be a decent lad. A loan back to the Championship or even League One will do him the world of good.

Was just thinking the same myself. He looks like he's never played before.
I can't understand it. Is he a different player in training? Why has he been picked?

First half certainly been a tale of two full backs.
One looks dynamite, one looks uttershite.

I just don’t think the lad will make it anywhere near Premier League level when he gets to his peak. He could be a very good lower league player, not going to end up close to the top.

He's 18 playing away at Man Utd. If an 18 year old defender is good enough at that age he certainly wouldn't be playing for Stoke. Maybe a loan deal and a year or two of experience and I'm sure he'll be ok. Everyone wants everything now in football these days. That's why there are so few English players in the Premier League. Nobody is prepared to be patient with them and let them learn from their mistakes.

Could be wrong, but wasn't Hughes trying to get Robertson when he was at Hull way before Liverpool showed any interest in him, but then we ended up with this young lad instead.

Recall his last game for Hull when skinned alive by Spurs and lost 7-1. He may be young, but he is also weak and poor. When Prem teams take on lower league teams in the FA Cup etc, they don't get skinned like he had and be a big part in a 7-1 defeat; or we don't see young players making their debuts elsewhere in the PL, looking so "Bambi on Ice-esque".... Better to have picked up a solid champ or solid L1 for cover, or cover the position with a utility player. Predict Tymon's level will end up being L1, even L2. I'm sorry, but I see nothing there. Hope he proves me wrong.

Based on the U23 games I've watched and the West Ham game I completely feel exactly the same was as my previous post. He has no idea what to do every single time he gets the ball.

Wimmer actually looked ok at left back. He should be there playing 18 year old or 18m FFS.

This thread is totally unfair on the lad as he has had little support. How many top class full backs have been undone by Valencia? Man Utd have scored two worldies and we have created more chances. We might go on to concede more but we do have some positives after the first half!

Think Mike Pejic would still do a better job than this youth. That's Mike Pejic today.

I did try tell you all on the match day thread that he was still out at 2.30 this morning. The lad as gone from 6k a week to 22k he needs bringing down to Earth very quickly. Instead of Nando’s most days he should do extra training

If we're adverse to spending money is Muniesa able to return? I'd love him to come back. Think he would be like a new signing for Lambert. His enthusiasm would spread through the squad.

And unfortunately the 18 million pound player that replaced the 18 year old young lad has looked equally as bad, if not worse. Wimmer really is the biggest waste of big money that I have seen in a Stoke shirt (yes, worse even than Imbula). If someone offered a tenner for him tomorrow, I'd take it. In fact I'd even pay the tenner for them. Just cut your losses Stoke and get rid.

If we can bring in a left back as good as our new right back we will be ok but we really need one desperately.. and a striker who can actually hit the net would be great
