After having an hour to 2 to calm down, reflect, with emotions running high, and not having the ideal candidate taking charge of us, he's here to stay for 2 years. I guess its not his fault he's been picked, its down to the board. His records might be shit, and i may not want him here along with 80% of supporters, but its tough luck. He's here, we start a fresh. We have 16 games left, with tonight being a write off, leaves us with 15 games. I'm not happy with the appointment but we have got to do everything we can to get behind us. Lets see the Bet365 turn back into how it was in the first year in the Prem. The sensible gift is back, with a level head backing stoke and Paul Lambert to another season in the top flight. Playing our part could be vital to our survival this season, and i bet you thought you'd never hear these words. Come on stoke.

This is basically a British trait- we are allowed to moan about how inept and crap we think things are internally, but as soon as someone external has a pop then the bulldog spirit is up and running ha ha!

Nah, Spidey 3.0 would be a total rebirth including name change (a-la-The Gift). Spidey 2.1 is basically 2.0 but now with added positivity

Put it this way most of us won't be around after another 23 years was it in the wilderness.
Staying up is imperative.
Will we talk about the Hughes team in the same breath as the Waddington team remembering the quality moments.
Or has the story got more pages to be written yet.
I'd argue the crown jewels have not all been sold yet but they do need a good polish if we're serious about staying up.

I love Stoke but don't even know if I want us to stay up. It will just mean Lambert stays on and we stumble on to relegation in the future.
We had a chance to do something exciting or adventurous and did the opposite. I'll be at the ground either way but head to the next home game with no optimism or excitement whatsoever. Feels like the old Stoke again. The shit Stoke I've supported for decades.

Get behind the new manager and the team, as underwhelmed as I am I'm unbelievably relieved we didn't end up with Monk, McClaren, Megson or even Pulis to name a few. Let's hope he can get a few good performances out of this squad, prioritty is to get them motivated, fit and organised.
Gouranga.

I think we (the players and fans) now need to do what we have a reputation for: FIGHT. As Dylan Thomas (yeah, the real one, not the one that used to get in The Marquis) said "Do Not Go Gentle..."
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
And there's more, my friend, where that came from.
Don't let them grind us down. Goaaaarn Stoke.
