Has anything been mentioned on his backroom staff, assistants etc yet? Suppose he will be drawing that up now before heading to OT to view the mess he has to work with!

I didn't want Lambert as manager but if he has apparently done his homework on the squad as has been reported, he's obviously coming in well prepared and will hopefully be able to take the necessary actions in the transfer window to bring in the right players to help preserve our Prem status.
I really didn't want him but he's been appointed so he's now got my total support in doing the best for Stoke City.
Paul Lambert - Welcome to Stoke and good luck !

To all you negative idiots posting on this thread! It is you who Stoke need to get rid of at this moment. We do not need you at this very awkward time. Either man up and try to work with everyone else in this terrible time. We are all feeling depressed and down but we are bright enough to recognise that the dice are cast and that we can play our part in the next few months!

Good luck to him, he'll need it !!!!!
I'll be very surprised if someone down there isn't already working on finding his replacement .

Get them fit, get them organised and get them motivated. You can do little more in the circumstances. Good luck Mr Lambert.

Yep weve had our rant but it's time to unite and pull together now. No one wanted Lambert but he's here and you have to believe the board when they say his interview was outstanding. If he's truly done his research and has an in depth knowledge of our squad, it's a good start. He will know the areas we need to strengthen and will hopefully get straight to it. He also appears to have been trying to better himself and learn more rather than just doing a bit of punditry here and there.
If he can organise our defence and the crowd unite and get the bear pit back, we can survive this season. Beyond that is for another time. Right now we need pull together and get behind our new manager.

Seems that his appointment has brought the best (and worst) out of our fans.
I thought we were here to support?
It's time to really become the 12th player again and get behind the team! He seems to know what he is doing and what his plan is. If we're down then we're down.
This has already showed who the plastic fans are and if he keeps us up and is successful then I am sure they'll be the first ones to turn around and say they were supporting him.
Up the Potters!

Any "fan" who doesn't get behind the board, the manager and the team is a tool of the highest order. If you really don't like the situation just stay at home and carry on playing Fifa Manager on your game console - the real world really isn't for you and the club doesn't need you anyway.
Looking at the positives:
1 Lambert wants the job (which is actually really important in my book) - and if reports are to be believed he's already put in some spade work.
2 He has experience of managing at his level.
3 He's got the motivation - it's last chance saloon for him at this level
4 The club has been decisive - the next few games and this transfer window are vital to our chances of staying up. Dithering to get the perfect candidate may well have proved more costly than getting someone in with less medium/long term potential.
4 He's on a relatively short term deal - so even if he keeps us up we're not over committed
5 In going for Flores as first choice the notion that the club will only appoint British is dead and buried and that the long term vision is something more than permanent struggle as a result of a restrictive, parochial management recruitment strategy
6 Roy Keane is nowhere near the club
So welcome Paul Lambert and all the best - you are not my first choice but while you're managing Stoke you've got my full support and I sincerely hope you prove to be the best manager we've had in the Premiership era.

Come on Stoke fans, show your worth. I am as bitterly disappointed that we seem to have ended up at our plan Z, desperation candidate as you are but it’s happened now, can’t cry over spilt milk. We’ve got to get behind the man and the team now and show them we’re behind them no matter what. It’s not Lamberts fault that he was chosen and you can’t blame him for applying for the job. We’ve got someone who’ll be committed to the cause who’s going to be out to prove us all wrong. Get behind the man and see what happens. You can throw your bile at Peter Coates and Co for letting it get to this but not Lambert. At the very least he will organise us and he can’t be worse than Hughes. Go on Stoke, City ‘til I die. “Paul Lambert’s Red & White Army”...well, didn’t feel that bad after all! Bring it on. Not my choice by any stretch of the imagination but now he’s here I’m going to get 100% behind him. Come on you Potters!!!

I've done some reading after drying my "pissy knickers ", whilst I still disagree with the appointment he seems to promote youth and his preferred formation is a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2... I'm prepared to cautiously give the man a chance, no matter how much in my head i'm screaming for fuck sake! His season in charge of Newly promoted Norwich garnered 47 points, and he managed to keep a plummeting Villa side in the league. Any more positives guys, before I go for another cry?

I have calmed down a little now. We do need to bring back the 12th man on saturday like never before. We’ve got to, we simply have to. We shouldn’t be writing a man off before he’s even had a minute in charge. He’s been out in Germany in his unemployment, learning from coaches at Bayern Munich and the likes. He’s got a desire to be a better manager this time round. GOARRRNNN STOKE, UP THE MIGHTY POTTERS!!

Two encouraging signs: 1. John Coates says PL had a clear plan. 2. PL knew about the club.
Both of those are good signs, and neither was true about Hughes.

Will Butland and Shaqiri stay? That's an easy one, how cheaply will we sell off the family silver? I don’t actually give a fuck whether they stay or not, Shaq has been excellent at times but awful recently and plays like he doesn’t give a shit. Butland has been a long way from the form he was in before than unfortunate injury when playing for England. If they want out then we should get rid
