Minimal contact but the ref had every right to go down there. Player then left a trailing leg to make it look like the ref kicked him.

Plenty of refs I've wanted to kick over the years, especially that fucking cunt Styles.

Ref suddenly ran across player, there was a tangle and ref falls down. Player completely innocent. Ref craply lashes out leg when getting up. He should have just got on with it, but he makes it about him and sends the player off! Would have been funnier having VAR on that one!!

Have a look at this, I am sure that if VAR was used this referee would not have been suspended, there is no doubt that the tackle from behind deserved the punishment the player received. The referee on the other hand would have been found innocent of foul play, although he at first decided he was going to kick the defender but just in time thought better of it and contact was not made. Maybe the fact that at first he intended to kick out was enough to be punished, Charlie does this every week but is very rarely punished. www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/referee-in-psg-nantes-game-kicks-out-at-player-who-accidentally-tripped-him-over/
