If MON, turns us down, I believe the only real option we have is to turn to ambitious lower league managers/ lesser European league managers who will fit into the blue print of developing the academy players, blooding youngsters and turning a profit on the odd gem we turn up. While it may be painful in the short term, at least they will relish the opportunity, will give their all, will galvanise the club and will accept the conditions set by the club.
For me leading the way would be :
Graham Potter Paul hurst The Cowleys brothers
If I was forced to make a decision I would opt for the Cowleys, purely as I have witnessed how they have galvanised a whole City and play decent football.

Defo any of these would be fantastic.
We also could do with a handful of British players from each of these clubs.
Need to pack the bags of every foreign player (hang on, give me a sec to re-think this, oh give Bauer a chance) and just buy 'real' British players.

Not for me, not in the current situation. If we go down then that might make much more sense.

So where would you go if MON declines? MON is just about the last of the acceptable stalwart managers, I am struggling after that. If we have the rumoured “ self sufficiency “ project then we have to bring in a manager that sees stoke as an opportunity and will work within its means?

If ONeill declines then yeah we have to accept relegation as an sure bet and go with an up and coming manager
Absolutely no point taking on Strachan, Pearson e.t.c.

Neil Aspin and John Rudge have engineered exactly the sort of turnaround we are looking for at Port Vale.
We could do much worse if we are looking for something leftfield, and Rudge knows the club of course.

Offer MON and Keane a 6 month deal with a reasonably healthy bonus if they keep us up and go for Potter at the end of the season.
Perhaps now isn't the time for him given that it's a gamble and his team are in the Europa League but what Potter has done is simply remarkable given the resources available and how he's got players from no where competing in the Europa League. He's a very intelligent man and knows a lot about the psychological aspect of the sport through his degree and average experiences of managers as a player.

I think these are options IF we go down - we would need 1 a new plan for the future and 2 an exciting manager who would embrace youth and change within our club.

The guy at Brentford had done a great job too. Has a mix of continental and British players. He's from the Midlands. I just think we need a name. When trying to talk to Shaq, Berahino and Crouch you need a touch of...this guy's done it before. We still have good targets outhere.
AVB Pearson Bilic Silva at Watford looks unhappy after the Everton distraction. jankovic
I don't think MON is a disaster and I think he will say yes. People's dislike of Keane comes from him as a player and what they see on TV but I always think he tells it the way it is. Maybe something we have been short of recently hence the post on the paper from crouch.

Totally agree There's one major flaw with that which is O'Neill and Keane won't accept a 6 month deal no matter how lucrative. They turned Everton down because they only offered them an 18 month deal. So it looks like shit or bust. If we try to be too penny pinchingly cute we'll be on plan C quicker than we think.

To be honest getting a manager that truly wants the job would be great, drive, passion, ambition and enough experience. Maybe it is someone from the lower leagues

All I can say mate is that it was in the press as being the case the same as the West Ham job who also wanted him on a short term contract which eventually went to Moyes. I have no idea of the veracity of any of those stories.

Jokanovic looks the part to me - gets struggling teams performing in quick time and has done well wherever he's been - and by rights should have already had Premiership experience at Watford. Also known to be unhappy at Fulham due to lack of backing so shouldn't be difficult to prize away.

We are down now,no point going for Strachan or Pearson e.t.c.
Give it to Potter and get ready for the Championship
