Hadn't seen this video before, look at the smile on the lad's face when he scores. Watching him for us, even with his good performances, he gives the impression that he's never enjoyed football as much as he did at Marseille.

This just makes me furious at him. What a waste of his talent

Unfortunately the lad is one sandwich short of a picnic, no matter how much talent or coaching he wil recieve he will never be what everyone wants him to become.
The bloke needs a new career as having one in such public glare will never help him sort his problems out, such a shame because as people say he has potential

Genuinely has the talent to be one of the best midfielders in the league, has the work ethic of a benefit cheat though, it’s a crying shame really.

Strengths concentration and stamina. I'd say they were his major weaknesses. Of course he has talent but just does not have the application or desire.
Seems he's doing better in France. Let's hope he hits a purple patch so we can recoup some of our money.

Makes you wonder if that show reel was the only scouting we did of him. I'd pay £18m for him based on that - he even puts a few tackles in!
Edit - you beat me to it Padders!

Watching that video again.
I wonder if Imbula has had some issues in his personal life that have thrown him off track? He seems to be one of those that manages to avoid the media so maybe something’s gone on there that we don’t know about.
When he’s played since that video he’s looked so down, like he doesn’t even want to play football. Whereas in that video he looks like he’s living the dream, smiling and very very passionate.

Should he be given another chance under the new manager to see if he is worth keeping?

Should he be given another chance under the new manager to see if he is worth keeping? I don't see that we have anything to lose in doing so. If he can rediscover that apparent love he has for playing in that video, or even the form he showed in 2016, he'd be well worth keeping. The problem is, if he does find form, where the hell is his best position?

I'm guessing he'll be back here in summer when his loan expires. See what a new manager can do with him...

The loan seems to have been a disaster? sportwitness.co.uk/insinuation-stoke-city-pushed-bargain-deal-end-january-window/If Torino are interested again its time to cut our losses. Or maybe have him see a clinical psychologist because to me he seems ill. If he is diagnosed then he can forget about football and get the help he needs and presumably we can claim the insurance

People keep saying that Imbula has "obvious talent " ...... I must have missed that match. Did you even watch the video in the O.P? Yes thanks, I watched the video. Nothing on show there or, more importantly on the pitch at Stoke, which strike me as being £18M worth. What I saw at Stoke was a complete lack of effort & commitment, easily dispossessed, one footed player. As I said before, I must have missed the match where his "obvious talent" was on display" ....... A signing even worse than Palacios.

Chelsea (A) Bournemouth (A) Watford (A) x2 West Ham (H) Burnley (H) Leicester (H) Are some of the games where he looked complete quality. That's 7 games out of his 23 starts where he's given excellent performances. I honestly can't think of that many where he was particularly dreadful, Wolves and Everton away being the only two that come to mind. He's got massive issues but let's not rewrite history.

I didn't see 7 "excellent performances" from Imbula, .... but football is all about opinions, and obviously we differ when it comes to Imbula. For what it's worth, I don't think that he has any future at Stoke City under whoever the new manager might be.

Very talented player with a very dodgy attitude. Ultimately though its £18M down the swanny (Unless...)

Chelsea and Bournemouth especially he looked a million miles ahead of anyone else. I agree, but it depends what the manager is willing to risk with regard to playing him, or if he wants to bring in his own.

I know what you mean, I used to ride my Raleigh Chopper one handed in the 80s, it was the done thing at the time but nowadays with all this health and safety it's a rare thing.
