I've always wanted us to have a player to whom I could give the nickname Withnail. I forsee Withnail Ddiaye becoming a Stoke legend. So he'll do for me. What about "Steak"?

One of these opinions must be wrong Obviously one of "Stoke have paid too much" and "it's a bargain" has to be wrong but in a strange way, I think the general gist of both tweets could kind of both be right. On the one hand, from Galatasaray's perspective, they've certainly done well out of the deal financially, and apparently at a time when they're in need of cash as well. It's also annoying to think that Stoke could have signed the same player a few months ago for so much less. On the other hand, signing a player who'd only played in Norway and at a minor Turkish club would have been an even bigger gamble, and can you imagine the reaction on here if that had been Stoke's biggest summer signing?! Plus, £14m - and 15% of any profit for those who really, really care about these things - really isn't that much in the crazy world of the Premier League. If, touch wood, Stoke have got someone who can help sort out our midfield for the next several years, then we would in fact have got ourselves a bargain. Frankly, I'm glad it's not me making these decisions

I thought he did down tools under Pulis re contact dispute. Ok he didn't actually refuse to play but his application and form dropped right off. Horse shit he was as reliable as the day is long sometimes frustrating in not being ambitious enough in his play but always head and shoulders above anything else in the centre of our midfield probably since Hudson's second stint. Sublime footballer who had the height, physicality and aggression to mix it with anyone. A player like Arnautovic who whilst they may sometimes piss you off for whatever reason when you are talking about a package of attributes they leave very few boxes unticked. In my opinion Nzonzi's form & application suffered markedly for a period under TP due to his contract dispute There was a lot of discussion at the time about it,wasn't just me. in general I thought he was a magnificent player for Stoke

Frankly, I'm glad it's not me making these decisions The 15% sell on is not a big deal as he is 27 and has signed a 4.5 year deal. If he performs for us, and stays most or all of that time, he will be in his early 30s and unlikely to fetch more than we paid for him. Sell-ons are only really of use for under-25s whose best is yet to come, as a reward for developing them in their formative years. If he does sort out our midfield problems and helps to keep us up, and amongst the Sky money, then 14m will indeed be a bargain.

Some more nice comments about him on reddit.... www.reddit.com/r/StokeCityFC/comments/7ud6cb/you_guys_transferred_badou_ndiaye_so_pissed_at/He is unlike any player I have seen at Gala. He is very good at defending but also strong as an offensive player. Basically an all round hard working midfield player, you can't get him tired. He compared to N'Golo Kante by many supporters. I honestly believe he could play easily at chelsea or man utd. You guys won't able to keep him for long if he plays like he always does.https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/7tzwzc/stoke_have_agreed_a_fee_of_15m_with_galatasaray/ This is my favourite active player. He is fucking awesome. Great attitude, physically gifted, good technique. A really nice guy too, the two times I met him and talked to him. Hope he will do well for Stoke. Fast, strong, runs for days, great passer/dribbler, alright at defending- definitely worth the £15m We'd have needed him in our battle for the title. Sad to see him leave, he's a proper beast, and pl will suit him well. He's an absolute pain in the ass for the opposition. Last player in Turkey who I'd wanna face on the field. And lets all say it together.. "If he was very good with the ball as well, he'd be in a top team already."

Statistically Ndiaye is a clone of Imbula with an extra tackle per game, but worse in the air and worse at passing.
Hopefuly his effort and work off the ball is extremely valuable.
