I am the eternal optimist, and it's an old cliché that we will stay up because of the shit below us, but I think that will be true. In bite sized chunks these are my predictions. January. Away v Man Utd...0 Home v Udders...3 Home v Watford...3 Feb Away v Bnmth...1 Home v Brighton 3 The 4 above are the 4 most crucial games Away v Leicester 0 Mar Away v Southampton...1 Home v Man City...0 Home v Everton...0 Away v Arsenal...0 Apr Home v Spurs...0 Away v West Ham..0 That would be 5 consecutive defeats.... and only 1 point from 7 games. Home v Burnley..3 Away v Liverpool..0 May Home v Palace....3 points....Hopefully Palace will be safe by then. Away v Swansea...3 Points...Hopefully Swansea will be down by then. Gonna be close.... Assuming QVC wont be channeling his influence until after Man Utd the so called new manager bounce will be vital, the only exception that I see to the above is to maybe win away at Bnmth...And maybe a draw at Leic and Southampton.

40 points would see us stay up. I expect this season that the relegation total will be about 36 points or even less. If you offered me 40 points now I would take them and sleep easy.

When the new manager sorts out our defence the annoying 1-0 defeats change to draws which will help, as would some 1-0 wins. At some point the shots we have had cleared off the line/blocked by our own players or just plain old missed Tec will start to go in, which will also make us more competitive. Lastly, it will take teams a while to work out our new man's system ideas so I think we will stun one of the top sides with a Diouf-esque wonder goal and pick up a bonus 3 very unlikely points (the double over Arsene Wenger would be nice).
My guess another 21 points.

This is Nogger. If predicting results was that easy,we could bankrupt all the Bookies. We could end up with 40pts. Plus, but we could also end up with less than 35pts. Let's just hope it's the former.

Ah the mythical 40 points
36/37 points is usually enough Obviously our shocking goal difference means we need at least one more.
38 should do it this year
I would presume the bottom half will continue to beat each other.
