Realistically what would he have to achieve in his current role this season to gain your support?
Win the FA cup? 5 game winning streak? Etc Etc

Just admit that his formation does not work and that he has got it wrong more times than hes got it right

A miracle now. Supported him all last season based on him turning things around. He failed and had the opportunity to put things right in summer. The total goals conceded tells the whole story.

Just admit that his formation does not work and that he has got it wrong more times than hes got it right Clear his desk pack his bags walk out the exit door with his team in tow, compensate the club for the three stooges he signed for £50 million and pay their wages for the remainder of the time we are stuck with them, then never show his miserable chops around here ever again.

Money spent on the right area of the team asap and some sort of decent run of form in those six games after the man u game would win me over

Unbeaten until the end of the season, conceding 0 scoring 98 and wining the F.A Cup.
But I'd still sack him in the summer.

Decent cup win. Not getting humiliated at Utd and 9 points from the next 4 league games after that.
And some decent, on-form incomings.

Safety and a cup run into semis at least.
Beating Man Utd on the 15th would be a good start.

A solid cup run (quarters will do) and a run of wins and good performances that pull us towards safety with games to spare. I think the damage has been done and, now we are into the bottom 3, I honestly cant see us pulling out of it if he stays...

If he honestly believes that his hands have been tied by the club he should resign and be vocal about it, that in itself would gain respect. Nothing more.

Good performances. A good string of them in a row will show he can at least give something. Haven't had a good performance since United at home.

Solid Performance against United. Stoke of old with fighting spirit, chasing every ball. 6 points from next 9 would be a decent start point. Beyond that 2/3 decent signings, cup semis and top half.
Not too much to ask is it?

A good January would involve 2 fa cup wins, a creditable draw at manure followed up with 2 league wins v huddersfield and Watford. Things would look a lot rosier then especially if we managed to land an impressive midfield player.
Do that and almost everyone would be back on side at least until the end of the season.

We need to know if he is staying or going first, before we can answer that question.

He would have to change into somebody else
Someone who spends time at the training ground
Works on his teams defensive shape and organisation and makes stoke hard to play against
Somebody who is respected by the players ( as opposed to liked by them)
Someone who pushes his players hard in training, making stoke one of the fittest, hardest working and organisated teams in the prem.
Someone who insist his players are quick into the tackle off the ball. Quick to move the ball when they have it
He would have to turn in to the complete oppossite of mark hughes
Tbh, i think that is unlikely

Nothing he could do now would make me want him to stay.
I have had absolutely no confidence in him or the team since before the end of last season when the writing was on the wall. Inexplicably the Board decided to keep him (cheap option ?) but the continued downward spiral has only reinforced my opinion that he should have already been sacked on numerous occasions this season.
The current farcical situation leaves him in a completely untenable position and the Board should act immediately to try to give the club some faint semblance of a chance of avoiding the drop.
Sadly their inaction more than likely means our fate is sealed. When (if !) Hughes is ever sacked he should be accompanied out if the door by Scholes and Cartwright as well.

Resign and save the club some money after the failed signings of Wimmer, Imbula and Berahino.

We need to know if he is staying or going first, before we can answer that question. Assume he is staying, it's easier to answer the hypothetical question.

No more zonal marking, No more passing backwards, 4-4-2, start defending in the opponents half instead of waiting until they're outside our box, even there we're not marking them and they can pick out a pass with all the time in the world.

We need to know if he is staying or going first, before we can answer that question. And whilst that question remains up in the air, the chance of us landing any decent players in the coming days is non existent. After a relatively textbook transition last time, the board are now writing a follow up book on how not to do it.

Back to the performances and results of 2015. We know he's capable of so much better so why he's slowly turned us to dogshit over 2 years is baffling.

Resign
And claim next time, the club should get in someone with courage in their own convictions
Someone, who will decide for instance we are going to play 5-3-2 ( as an example) And then sign the players to do that, refine it in training, refine it in games, spend serious money but very selectively in the one or two areas where we look weak with that system
And beg the club, not to get in some timid, panicky bloke who doesnt even belief in himself And just lurches from 5-3-2 one week to 4-2-3-1 the next, followed by a bit of 4-4-2, a dash of 4-3-3 And a partridge And a pear tree

Good run in the cup.
Keeping us up,doing it in a fashion which suggests next season simply won't be more of the same/that tactically lessons have been learned.

After a relatively textbook transition last time, the board are now writing a follow up book on how not to do it. Absolutely. The odds of us dropping in May are shortening with every passing hour. I just can't believe it. Local ownership, solid, sensible businessmen (and women), proper football people and they are acting like Arkwright and Granville. It's ludicrous. Absolutely ludicrous. Fair enough, they might be sounding out replacements now but even that is too late IMO. It should have been done weeks ago.
