Harsh but not arsed. He's got more chance of playing for us when we get relegated so this will do him some good.

Good news.
Looks like St Pauli have been struggling after a decent start (no win since 1st October)

Brilliant move.
Great opportunity to play in a fantastic stadium in front of 30,000 fans. Hope he gets regular game time there.
Really excited to see how he does!

Interesting training video there. Spot the awkward looking kid that has spent the last 2 years in a massively funded Premier League Academy against a 2nd Division Bundesliga player, who is comfortably playing one touch football.
I hope he does well there and learns loads.

What's "Trainingslager"? I could have done with some of that at 18 mind.

I didn't know he looked like that, the jury is out on his pudding bowl haircut! Who? That’s the Wolfsburg team not St Pauli for one. The one with 23 his shorts is Gulivogui, the order darker skinned chap is Divok Origi (on loan from Liverpool) and I’m not sure who the white chap is.

He's talking about the first video, which features Verlinden kicking the ball a bit.

I was referring to the video in the original post rather than the picture immediately above this post. Is that not him either? If not I'm not sure how the video relates to the story!

Looked lively for the 45 mins he was on for.
Was playing on the left and managed to cut inside a few times and get a couple of shots off- one was saved by the keeper and the other was blocked.
It was noticeable that St. Pauli were trying to get the ball to him as often as possible.

Not being a doom monger or anything like that but when have we loaned out a youngster for them to come back to rock the city. In fact has there ever been a young or senior player to do this? For me loaning out a player means only that they aren’t good enough for PL.

Plenty of other clubs have loaned players out to come back and be far better off top of my head Beckham went to Preston from Utd and more currently Kane spent time at Leics and Norwich. If anything I think this shows how poor we've been at youth development for well over a decade.

My fear is that he has a stormer and then the likes of Dortmund get a whiff and his agent does the rest to get him out of Dodge Stoke...

A loan to St Pauli is far more beneficial than going to someone like Bristol Rovers, playing at a high standard in front of 30,000 people rather than a ploughed field in front of 3,000. Dom Telford was a stand out youth player and all he does is warm the bench because there's no focus on technique in the lower leagues of England, whereas in Germany it's the primary focus.
