Depends on the state of the club I guess. For example the fella at Wolves would be insane to join us as they are romping away with the Championship and will probably have a very strong base in the Prem to build on The rest. I guess it comes down to how they view the strength of our team and what they have been promised with their current club Not the most enticing thing on your cv if you think we are going down and there are little funds against a backdrop of a massive rebuild next season whatever division we are in Plus we are one of the lowest payers for a Prem League manager

Really doubt it's true though. Pulis was reportedly on £1.5m + bonuses when he got the chop, and was said to be on the same at the Baggies. Hughes was a seasoned Prem manager who knew his worth when he signed up for 4 years in 2015, after a really impressive 2 seasons here and we were flying. He certainly didn't sign for peanuts, did he? Our player salaries are competitive, so I'm sure we'd be prepared to pay our top man a competitive mid-table Prem salary.

Coates and the board haven't got the balls to go for an up and coming manager like Rowett. They're only interested in relics and failures. Out of touch with the modern game and its biting the club on the arse....badly. No prem chairman will take the chance on a wannabe with so much sky money at stake

Derby are lying second and would be nailed on to be in the playoffs if they do not remain there. Good managerial record, a defender as a player, young and British. Given the difference in wealth between Premier League and the Championship we should be able to offer enough to tempt him. Understand he has 18 months left on his contract so hardly a fortune in compensation. Ought to be able to organise a defence but by the same token Hughes ought to have been able to spot a striker.
If nothing else we would go down fighting rather than in denial with a wimper.

There is no vacancy.

Rowett’s ultimate ambition is to manage there with Derby. Yet it is perhaps indicative of the fear that grips Premier League clubs that he is not mentioned when vacancies arise. Johnson and Brentford’s Dean Smith are arguably in the same bracket but were barely discussed when Swansea, for example, searched for a new manager towards the end of December. “Do I think I could handle the Premier League as a manager? Of course I do. I’ve got complete belief in the way me and my staff do things. But I’m open-minded enough to know how it works,” he said.
“If your club gets £180m for staying up then owners will go with someone with experience. Does it grate on me? Not really, because I’m more focused on Derby.“I fully understand and appreciate managers coming in from different countries because it’s a global game. It’s what makes it great but we also have a duty of care to build young English players and coaches at St. George’s Park. “If we’re educating people and they never get higher than League One then we’re not doing our job as a football association. We have to create opportunities for the best young coaches.” www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/01/03/gary-rowett-hoping-fa-cup-tie-manchester-united-acts-dress-rehearsal/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw

How about another Gary - Megson or Monk? I'm surprised they aren't being mentioned more.
Another name I haven't heard is Grayson. Did a decent job at Preston, then failed at Sunderland, but Sunderland is completely fucked up so I don't know how much you can blame the manager. Alex Neil is another Brit with Premier League experience albeit not successful Premier League experience.
