Give Charlie Adam the job for Saturday. Which gives Coates 2 weeks to sort a new gaffer out. Sadly one poor pass gave the opportunity for Newcastle to score that vital goal that sunk us He showed real leadership qualities throughout the game today, supporting the younger players, in particular Edwards and Choupo as well as making some very good attacking passes. Unlucky with his free kick too, experienced at winning several free kicks for us With the likes of Allen and Cameron working around him he still has a lot to offer Make him captain v Coventry on Saturday please

I think the Press Conference storming out mardarsery has probably done for him. Not a very 'family' thing to do is it, making yourself look a massive bell end in front of the world's press. I can’t blame him to be honest on that one. The last thing you need is some journo rubbing you up the wrong way after that. He knows he’s ballsed up and I’d rather the stormed out than told him to fuck off. He should be able to take the rough with the smooth but he was clearly (clearly) agitated. He should have stayed to tough it out but I understand him walking out. There’s nothing worse than somebody trying to prove a point when you know you’ve done wrong whether that’s your missus or a journalist. It was a situation entirely of his own making though. It was bound to be followed up by any journo worth his salt. His weaselly, squirming words to get out of it were rightly challenged for the utter fucking bollocks they were, which forced him in two year old mood. Utter clown.

The fans have properly turned now and Coates cannot ignore the amount of Hughes out chants at the end today. It was more vocal than even the West Ham game where we were truly shambolic and it'll only get worse from now on if he keeps him at the club.

It was impressive, flouncing handbaggery, for sure. It's ever likely Nige sticks to questions about his choice of shoes, or what he's having for tea later 😗😗👜👠.

It hasn’t been confirmed from the club, that tweet has since been deleted, it’s just heresy at the moment.

Hopefully the Board are just finalising details for his replacement before they announce he's left. Then again this is Coates and Co so they're probably giving Hughes an extended contract !

I won't hold my breathe Deeside, although if the board don't act quickly and decide to keep Hughes it will have a huge effect on Season ticket sales wether we stay up or not. Keep him and people won't gamble on buying one for next season whilst he is in charge I am sure.

Lets say the club doesn't act and we lose at Coventry...will that count I think not. So the Next match is Man U away on the 15th ...anyone think we can win this ?? So the next match is Huddersfield on the 21st...if we lose and they then sack him we have about 10 days to get a new manager and get players in he may want. He needs to go NOW.

It's a fucking ridiculous situation, the guy is clearly taking us down & the board are just standing by watching it happen.
Unbelievable. I keep clicking back on here hoping to see a post of a tweet saying He's gone. It's not happening is it!?

I think like Denis Smith said, they will be putting the feelers out to managers agents to see what the response would be before anything gets out in the media. That should have happened weeks ago. If we do pull the trigger, we should know now what our options are.

He ain’t getting sacked.
He’ll take us down and try and take us back up. And fail miserably.
