Don't know whether people noticed, but when Edwards had got forward and put in some decent crosses, after about 20 minutes , he was blowing hard after each sally forward. What do they do in training.

The lack of fitness in our players is evident to see before kick-off.
I've noticed that in almost every game the opposition look far more toned and athletic than our players - this can only be down to physical training. This is probably the easiest of all things for a management team to do - ie get the players physically fit - we can't even do this simple thing.

The Fitness of Tom Edwards is literally the last thing we need to worry about. Irrespective of the fact your wrong.

Watching everton just makes our team look like fitness freaks. What does that tell us? Fat Sam is supposed to be into his fitness.
Just comes down to players attitude.

I noticed OP. He was blowing hard at several points during the game. Indicative of fitness, age or both?

Newcastle appeared far fitter than us, that's why they were able to press us all over the pitch, why they closed Man City down so quickly last week. There was an instance in the second half when Newcastle broke quickly on us second half and got 4 of their players in the box only for one of their players to lose possession. I looked at our team and every one of them was blowing out of their arses after trying to get back. I've maintained for the past two season our fitness levels are fucking awful and that is a very big reason as to why we are as shit as we currently are.

This is absolutely spot on and we commented around us on this Edwards was same at huddersfield but fitness is often measured by the speed in which you recover and he recovered, seemingly at least, very quickly.

Probably due to his age an playing at an intensity he and his body aren't used to.
You see the same in all youngsters who break through. Nothing to worry about.

I struggle to understand with all the facilities available to our players, why they are not all operating at 100% peak fitness levels. Christ back in the day when dad played the facilities were like the cobbled together shed/hut that’s in the montage of Rocky 4 ....yet they were all fit ....in fact one or two of the lads smoked ...and they were fitter than most of our lot seem to be today. It’s as if the thought of doing the full 90 mins on the pitch is a bit daunting.

You saw something similar at West Ham. Under Bilic he'd let all of the players' fitness decrease and once Moyes went in he tightened things up and got them match fit again. Could be the first solution to our problems. Would also mean fewer injuries and less of us having to fill round holes with square pegs because we're playing a top 5 team.

The most depressing stat I saw was that WHU as a team ran 7km more in their first game under Moyes than Bilic. That's nothing to do with fitness and more to do with application and attitude. It's their profession, you'd think they'd have more personal pride.
