Outstanding today - I don't see why people slag him off on here to be honest - he (along with the Shaq) looks to make things happen, he runs at people, holds the ball up well, and brings those around him into the game going forward. I know Tommy Edwards was man of the match - and he was very good today - but Choupo (and Joe Allen) were absolutely class.

He played a part in all 3 goals and was unlucky not to have 2. Back to the form we saw earlier and we looked dangerous with him and Crouchy up front

If we could get a beast of a defensive midfielder to partner Allen in a 4231 then my "3" would be Choupo, Shaq and Ramadan - with Ramadan on the right. That would give Shaq a central role which suits him better. Choupo would be nominally an inverted winger on the left but is hugely mobile and would also function as second striker and Ramadan to me looks a much more confident player on the right. Yesterday (in just 10 minutes) he put in a great cross for Diouf and he also scored a goal. When he last played on the right (against Rochdale) he also scored.
Choupo and Ramadan both do a decent job at protecting their full backs - which Shaq does not.

He worked harder than he has done in previous games and produced some quality on the ball. Hopefully he can push on now and put such performances in on a more consistent basis.

He does have that same style as Fuller. A joy to watch well done Choupo. Spot on - a good way to go to be a Ricardo at the moment but how ECM jigged for his goal - I thought I was looking at Ricardo!

Why do people keep going on about playing him up-front?
All of his best games have been when he's played as a left winger, which he was yesterday. I know he's big and looks like a bit of a dude, but he's not a centre-forward in a million years. Do people get confused because, yes, in flashes he does remind us a bit of Fuller?
He needs the space that being on the wing affords him. Having him in his proper position was the main reason we won- he was MOTM.

Yup think he has a tendency to play well within himself needs to bust a gut a lot more often. He's a lot faster than you think because he sprints so infrequently and he has very decent Strength and physical presence that he could make better use of. I think he relies a bit too much on being a sound technical player and that's not quite enough in this league. Has the potential to become a special player if he can see these issues and use all his attributes to the full. Decent bit of player management by Hughes not often I say that nowadays.

I've liked Choupo from day 1 and I thought he looked really good yesterday. I also thought he showed some pace - more than I realised and to cap it off, he comes over as a really nice guy when interviewed. I bloody hate footballers wearing their hair like Lin Chung from The Water Margin but for Choupo I'll make an exception. If he continues to play like this I'd have mine done like his except I'm severely follically challenged! 😁

No doubts a good performance yesterday and at least one more sprint but he certainly doesn't believe in burning himself out.

...He's a fuckin good player... I'm still not convinced. Did very well though yesterday with the way he took his goal and set up Ramadan. Agree to disagree. Has he 4 or 5 goals for us already? Strong, intelligent footballer, good defensively and offensively, decent header of the ball, controls it well, never seems to panic (thought his toe poked goal against Brighton was very well taken), team player and seems like a thoroughly likeable guy. Negatives: shit hair

Was terrific again today
Lovely goal disallowed for offside
A wonder save from a fantastic effort
He is a really good player but I am still not sure he's a centre forward

I can see what you are saying there, he has got that ability to keep the ball and go past players with ease and also that hint of arrogance. Definitely got that 'something' about him

He's a really skilful player. In an absolutely dour game he was very unlucky not to score two.
All his best games have come from him playing on the left, so you can bet your life that Hughes will start him up front next game.

I thought: he played on the left cutting in,which suits him. : He should not have been offside from Shaqiri's through balls, could see all along the line on both. : Overall he played really well, definitely on form
Don't understand the moans about him playing upfront when he wasn't playing there.
