I think we are about 50/50 to go down, if we do we are gone for good. We are going down, I am old enough to have witnessed this before, poor manager with a shocking squad with no fight or passion = relegation, could have easily been prevented if the board had shown some back bone and fcuked Mark and his team off in the summer, the purchase of Wimper has been the cherry on top for our transfer dealings recently.

It very much depends if we can somehow get a win this weekend, and sign a midfield and possibly a striker in january.
It depends really on whether Coates/bet365 want us to survive. If they do they can comfortably bankroll some remedial action in January, signing a couple of proven players.
M'Vila is available it seems and will do as a defensive midfielder.
There are players out there we could sign easily who will sort out some of our major problem areas. Do we want to sign them? Why did we spend 18 million on Wimmer when it is the midfield area most in need of reinforcement? Fuck knows. Something very strange is going on

I think we can turn it round, losing has become a habit that we need to break. Park the bus asap

On current form we are a goner - start preparing for life in the Championship, and do away with any thoughts of an immediate return. We could be gone for a while, maybe not 23 years, but get used to trips to the likes of Barnsley, Preston, Brentford, Reading and Millwall. Kiss goodbye to your Zouma, Shaqiri, Butland and Allen too.
Without a miraculous return to form under Hughes, with some sound business done in January (very unlikely), or a new manager coming in and splashing the cash in January to change our fortunes (again, not very likely), we will continue to limp along, in the hope that three teams manage to just about do worse than us, difficult as that seems to be to comprehend.

I don't think we can fight our way out of a wet brown paper bag.

Resigned to relegation now, might as well enjoy the rest of these Premiership fixtures, won’t be seeing them again for quite a while.

I don't think we'll go down, we've got too many good players for that, and there are also too many other teams also struggling... The one thing I'm sure of though is that Hughes needs to go. Even if he could 'turn it around' and win the next couple of games (Which, without looking, I think could chuck us up to somewhere near the top ten?) But the crowd has already turned now, it's like in the final throws of the Pulis regime, it doesn't matter what he does from here on in, most people are sick of it & just want him gone.

This is what I think will happen, not necessarily what I want to happen.
If we beat WBA on Saturday, Hughes will be kept on.
The reasoning being we'll have 19 points from 19 games, not good but not a total disaster.
We have the January transfer window to bring in a couple of new players to strengthen the side.
Zouma and Martins Indi will come back into the team.
Surely we can better 19 points in the second half of the season, which should see us safe from relegation.

Can’t score. Can’t defend. It feels just the same as the last time we dropped out of the top flight

We won't go down; we'll finish 15th-16th and change manager by mutual consent over the summer.

I've been very worried that we will be relegated since the summer. We shouldn't have kept Hughes and we also continued our transfer policy madness. Sure we have a chance still......of course we do but it doesn't look good last face it.

Relegation for us im afraid, 20 games remain, and I think 6 against the top 6? Which leaves 14 games of which we would need to win at least half or 1 every 2 which would put us on 37 points and I don't this is going to happen😕

I think staying up with 37 points is a real possibility.
It will take big and I'm not talking a single 20million pound player here, I'm talking 2 x 20 and another 2 x 10 million pound players to give us a chance. That's £60 million total for four players who could keep us up.
Two defenders a box to box and FFS a striker.
No chance Peter Coates will spend that so I'm afraid were gone.
The subject of manager is a seperate issue to that minimum spend.

It's still to early to call, Hughton,Howe,Clement,Benitez,Pellegrino,Pardew,Hodgson,Moyes as well as Hughes are all at risk of the drop.
I think Swansea and Brighton could go, but not so sure who the remaining one might be.

If we can be realistic, and target the signing of a defensive midfielder in January to plug the gaps we so clearly have, that will make other players do better. We will have to pay over the odds in January. A defensive midfielder who can open his legs and run has to be the priority

We will finish 13-16th, make some big changes in the summer and look very much better next season finishing around 9th or 10th having had a serious cup attempt along the way.
This is happening folks 😜

i think we are doomed, can't see us getting out of this, we haven't enough quality in the squad, you only have to look at the bench on saturday,it tells us everything, we're just not good enough, and even when the transfer window opens in january, who would want to sign for a struggling club like stoke, i'm absolutely gutted the way things have turned out, and feel its a chore going down to watch them, ive supported stoke for many years, and now i'm tired of watching the dross served up, its become embarrassing to watch, sorry for feeling this way, but its an honest opinion,i'll now wait for the backlash.

I think we will lose this saturday and hughes will be sacked, hope i'm wrong....we will appoint someone who will get some spirit back in team and we will stay up because there are worse teams than us, but that's the only reason, not through what we produce particulatly. The teams who go down will have less points than previous seasons ie 30 ish not usual 40.

Can we put the 40 points myth to bed please.
36/37 points is usually enough sometimes less than that.

37 points and -36 GD.
I’m going to take a punt that may be enough by a point or two, so 17th for me.

Get people fit and playing and Butland, Zouma, BMI, Allen and Shaq are why we stay up....assuming we buy players to assist them.
I worry they won't stay fit though. Shaq is due his 4-6 absence soon.
I think we will go down.

You see if I was convinced like you that we wouldn't go down, then I wouldn't want Hughes replaced now, I'd rather we wait until the summer and replace him properly then. I'm convinced that Hughes IS very likely to take us down though, so we need to bring somebody, indeed virtually anybody, in now, to give us any sort of a chance of surviving, even if it ends up being a pretty small chance.

Lose to West Brom, get a new man in and scrape it in the last couple of games, then a huge rebuild in the summer, my head says relegation though

The bookie's say hughes is 4/9 to be sacked and Pulis about evens to return. If he comes back he will keep us up. He always proves his critics wrong.
