Hughes is still here because Coates has lost his bottle & does not care about the supporters. I thank him for everything he has done for the club & the city but he has gone back to his bad old ways of lacking vision & ambition so we return to championship football or even worse.

Coates doesn't deserve to own a Premier League side.

Why are any of us here? Why ask such existential questions when we should be asking the real questions?
Like.. If Mark Hughes does a presser and dribbles off the same old shit that he always does and nobody is there to hear it is he still a wopping donkey cock of a man and a festering dog turd of a manager?

What the fuck are you lot on?
Coates has nothing to do with this.
Yes 99% of the supporters want Hughes gone but you can't moan at Coates for not pulling the trigger.
He's a loyal man, and "clearly" has given his manager every opportunity to turn it round which in this day and age is non existent
If we had a foreigner in charge who had no emotional connection, you'd see a fat Dutch buffoon in charge, no money, no players and we'd be dwindling in the fucking doldrums
Get some perspective you fools!
Ofcourse I want Hughes gone but to criticize Peter Coates is totally and utterly out of order

There must be someone online who can answer this. I seem to remember words like "project" and phrases like "keep the faith" or " it's all gravy" etc. from the dry knickers brigade

Let’s face it SCFC are basically at best an advertising outlet for BET365 and at worst an expensive hobby for Peter Coates. He’s a bookie - and the only thing that really motivates bookies is the thought of making lots of money.

He is a failed caterer. The older ones of us have been here before. Odds on hughes going cut drastically

Coates should have shook hands and said farewell to Hughes in May - most here could see that he'd lost the plot - why couldn't he? Now it's a fucking poisoned chalice that few will want to risk their reputations for and decent players wont want to come in Jan either if we're already in the bottom 3 - we need 6 points from the next 2 home games without fail - what a sorry state of affairs - mostly avoidable ......

Coates has dithered and dithered and is fast becoming a massive part of the problem.

It would be even more suicidal to sack him before the Christmas period, and be managerless, with all those games coming up. We really have fucked things up. He definitely should have gone at the end of last season.

I guess the counter argument to that is that you would give the new man those games to assess the squad and work out who he needs to bring in when the window opens in January.

I truly believe the lack of realist options has forced the chairman's hands slightly, I think that before the palace game he expected us to start picking up points and the noises would go away again, dependent on what happens on Saturday he may have no choice.

Bayern et al - You are a complete moron !
Yes Coates is dithering, but look at the bigger picture! We are one of VERY few clubs with a BRITISH owner who genuinely supports the club. Hughes is his man, he fucked off Toxic and put his trust and money in Hughes.
He's given Hughes long enough, and perhaps he should have gone in the summer, but you look at the alternatives then, there was no outstanding choices available. There isn't now in all honesty, but right now we do need a change I completely agree, but to give Coates shit, you sir, are a fucking bell end.
