We should routinely get rid of managers after three years, they run out of ideas and the players just get into a rut.

So you are disappointed that he wasn't sacked? A bit, yeah. It would've been great to see the board get their fingers out their arses. At least one of them needs to go too

If true, shame that it's the scenes at Stoke station that probably triggered it. Not sure he deserved that.

It's worrying if he's actually resigned rather than being given the sack. In the latter case you'd hope that PC would be cautious enough to have someone already lined up. If he's fucked off by his own will and PC was genuinely supporting him, we could be left well in the lurch. There's nothing vindictive in it but if he has gone I legitimately hope he's been axed, if nothing else it prevents a "rats leaving a sinking ship" scenario. Left in the lurch so we know who he would turn to. Things are about to get much worse

TP left by "mutual consent", we all know he was fired.
I think if this is true it will be the same.

It's ok for teams that are big enough to regularly win something, but teams like Stoke need to freshen things up to remotivate players. Waddo was in a different era, football is totally different now.

Maybe a surprise on a new manager?

Keep the manager only if they refresh the coaches and backroom staff. Fergie did it brilliantly. Wenger has not.

Examples that are between 30-50 years old. It doesn’t work like that any more. Stakes are higher, the game moves faster on and off the pitch, and managers do get stale more quickly.

It still tends to happen there and then though. It’s rare it happens one day and is announced later. Not saying it’s not true, just that it’s weirdly handled if so.
