thought you were on about what people say about Stoke for a bit there, which is what they do say Not sure we've ever been described as bland or inoffensive, in fact we're often described as scum or neanderthals or we're hated or slated for the N40 etc. In lieu of having an illustrious history I'd rather have an edge than be nobody. we have recently, now we are PL boring supporters esp. at home

Bland, inoffensive, boring club. Same ilk as Sunderland, Norwich, Crewe, Reading etc. I'll go since I've never been but hardly sets the pulse racing. They won't be arsed about us either in the slightest. And we'll probably lose. Have you seen us win away yet Phil? I remember there was one point a few years ago where you were a poison chalice.

Well I don't make many games nowadays but I will be booking the day off work and heading to this one with my lad. The last game I took him to was the wolves debacle last time. A real tame and meek surrender. So far next year he has queens of the stone age/iggy pop and more at Finsbury park and stoke away at Coventry in the cup. 11 year old. Living the dream

Cov fans suggesting we will rest some of our regular first team ( do we have one? ) and / or be focussing on avoiding relegation
They also mention our disappointing exit at home to Wolves last season
This is a great opportunity to progress to round 4 🤔

Gotta feel sorry for how their club has been destroyed, sign of the chaos the club is in that their fans are guessing anything between 10K & 25K for the attendance, not much difference!!! Liked this quote, if only for the 4th Division reference "Can't be many times a top tier side has played away to a 4th side in the fa cup in a stadium bigger than there own!"

Assuming we play on the 5th of Jan. At 3 pm. I've checked Trainline and the cheapest tickets on there Stoke to Coventry is 37 quid... Switching at Brum Same day £28 return direct with cross country. £18 with rail card.

Very weird but something about this match has made me very nostalgic.
That year we were knocked out by Cov was a watershed for me. I totally fell under the spell of Stoke City FC and gut wrenchingly realized it was a pretty stupid fucking football team to fall in love with.
Then again, over the years, as much as supporting Stoke can rip the heart out of you they can make my heart swell more than anything other than family and close friends.
Last time we played each other in the cup Coventry won it.
The wheel turns.

Capacity of the Ricoh stadium is about 32,500 but their average attendance this season is barely over 7,500 so sadly it is less than a quarter full most of the time.

The Rugby Club sadly have a higher pecking order than Coventry these days, so are they playing at home on the same weekend? As per Gods post regarding feeling sorry for the Club, not really got any love or hate for Coventry City (1987 aside...) but when you see a Club that has been basically abused & used by murky owners/investors, end up in lower leagues it does make you think.

All I would say about this is no slip ups , great draw for us , nice ground to go they will turn out a good crowd
I just hope doesnt fuck about with the team we have a few days to prepare after the newcastle game and in effect a free game the week after where he can rest players and give squad players a game the cup can give our season a real boost and we dont want a repeat of Hull Bristol or Wolves when we go out lets make sure its to a better side than us.

Imagine this conversation on the way out: "In 30 years, you'll play again - only this time, Coventry will be in Division 4, Stoke will have been in Division 1 for 10 years and will have played in Europe".

Interesting thoughts on the Cov site.
They could give us two stands to go at! Imagine that 😂
But seriously what has happened to Coventry City, seems a total shambles from top to bottom even we can’t fuck this up can we?
Should be no more than £20
