He seems to have turned Crystal Palace's fortunes around since he took over and they're starting to look like a side that could get out of the trouble they got themselves in early doors.
So my question is.... Is he as bad a manager as his England tournament record would have you believe?

He ain't the first good club manager to fail miserably as England boss. As for example, Graham Taylor.

It's November and they have five points. Very hard for them to stay up even though they have clearly stopped the rot.

I wouldn't say he's turned them around, he's playing a style that his players are more accustomed to but they've only taken 5 points from a possible 24 under him so far - one win, two draws and five losses.
26 games left and they need to put another 32/33 points on the board I would say to get out of it, averaging just under 1.3 points a game for the rest of the season is a huge ask, personally I can't see them doing it.

Still hope we can end above Burnley after 38 games, but we need to keep our "mini-run" going for at least another 4-5 games to start looking upwards!

Or Sakho and Zaha coming into the team has improved them at both ends. These are far better than bottom of the league players and would improve most teams in the league.

With £70 odd million worth of attacking talent he'd be a right shit manager not to turn them around.

We could have a side like Man City's and would still find a way to lose there.
I've been there about 6 times now and never seen us win.
Bogey ground.

Interesting to see how this pans out I get the feeling that he's carried the Euro Woy over with him, lack of a discernable plan, Kane on corners kind of stuff.
He couldn't contain Zaha's pace who was always going to cause chaos for a hapless and rudderless Everton. Everton's defence are pretty woeful. Slow. Inevitable rather than planned and well managed. Didn't watch it but heard some and listened to some analysis, comments about Palace needing to score 4 to get anything out of games. Might be exciting stuff but at the foot of the table, defence is key. Don't really see any corners being turned just yet. Havn't checked their run, obv. us, and they put us on our arse about this time last season. Not been a happy hunting ground recently. {Reserve judgement until after tomorrow.}
Hodgson nah, gone off him. Creaking.

I really don't know to be honest. Fulham looked deader than Palace and he kept them up, but it's still a big ask. And if Zaha goes in Jan or gets injured they're pretty much done for.

England have had several decent managers. Venables did well. Bob Robson did well eventually. Sven did well. Greenwood was appointed instead of Clough and Clough wouldn't have done any better than he did.
