A 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United in division 2 on Saturday allowing me to come out from hiding on the Sunday and post Wadding out and why do we start with that Mathews when he is far too old.
Deja vu at it's finest

Beat Leeds 2-1 away. In the same season we beat Chelsea 5-2 away and 6-1 at home and also beat Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Arsenal. We also won 26 of our 42 games. Not a bad season!!

I was born 2 days after we beat Luton 3-0 at home on 1st October 1960. Having looked at the fixtures for the 1960/61 season, during our first 10 games we played away at Plymouth, Sunderland, Charlton, Portsmouth and Swansea. For any die hard fans who went to those games it must have been very long journeys in those days.

Quite interesting.
The day before I was born we beat Birmingham City at home, and the following week drew 2--2 at Chelsea.
About five years later I went to my first game. Don't remember anything about it except it was in the Boothen End. They used to pass the kids over head to the front.
1948--49.
