Think they hold the record for being hit by the most bottles of piss when they played Donnington

I'm a late arrival to the Dead but I can listen to this again and again, it's just beautiful: What's not to like.
Got to thank The Dead for introducing me to The National.

They’re a bit anaemic albeit Rock Star is a decent song. Ironically we love Shinedown who are sometimes described as a better version of Nickelback but they’re so much bloody better than that !

I think it must be one of three things.
1) They take what are otherwise inane pop songs and dress them up with just enough rock to make you like them and hate yourself at the same time
2) They fall short of putting sufficient edge into their songs, turning what could otherwise be interesting stuff into a sea of blandess
3) They eat live babies whilst listening to Cliff Richard albums
Ponders. Yup, actually I think it's all three.

Chuck Berry (RIP) said he only ever wrote two songs, the fast one and the slow one. Nicklback seem to make do with just the one.

I don't get why they are so unpopular - after all they are just one of many AOR bands that produce huge amounts of bland, soulless music albeit with the (very) occasional good tune.

They spawned the equally tepid Theory of A Deadman, who are very similar, and signed them to their own label. Nickelback tickets for their last tour were on groupon at massive discounts and still not shifting. They’re good at what they do, just don’t exactly excite me

When you play a Nickelback song backwards you will hear messages from Satan and even worse when you play it forward you will hear Nickelback. 😁😄😆 I had a quick listen online now on their Greatest Hits album, rather lot of songs there. Recognized the name Nickelback, but I've never listened to them, but I must heard them many times, which is a different thing. Typical radio rock namely, produced for that media. Not bad, not good, nothing I'd notice in particular. No instant affection on me. Obvious Kurt Cobain vocals influences, as well as Soundgarden for instance. I can see why they sell.

The same reason people think Grateful Dead are good. I'm a late arrival to the Dead but I can listen to this again and again, it's just beautiful: I have this cd called "Skeletons from the closet" by Grateful Dead. Found out afterwards it was a Best of album. My favourite is: "Uncle John's Band" As always, can't link.

Supermarket muzak. I don't hate them, they're basically a music version of Fulham FC, Keeping Up Appearances or chinos.
See also George Ezra
