What a player. Is there a harder working player in the team. Even if he's not at his best he never hides. That sprint in the second half when he got back to concede a corner after being fouled he was like Bolt. For me right now first name on the team sheet. Shame there's not 2 of him one for up front and one at RWB.

He has several of the qualities needed in a wing back (energy, pace, attacking instincts, and enough defensive abilities). I think he's better there than as a central forward where his weaknesses become more of a problem (poor reading of the game so he's not in the right place early enough, not great at holding the ball up). And he scores goals from wing back, too.

The only problem with Diouf is that when he plays as a striker he can't hold the ball up and continually slips over to cover his inadaquacies especially when the ball is crossed or threaded through to him. Thats why he starts at Rb

Most selfless player there's ever been.
He works tirelessly every single game. Never complains, never sulks. Has never lost his head despite getting more than his fair share of criticism from the fans over the last few years.
Just gets his head done and gives his all every time he's asked to play, and regardless of which position he's asked to play.
Still our best centre forward.

Comfortably my favourite player out of this bunch. The way he gives everything week in week out despite being criminally fucked about by his manager is admirable.
If I was him I'd have slapped in a transfer request months ago.

The Charlie Adam miss just sums him up. He Ran the length of the pitch in the last minute to support Adam.
Non stop running & a real team player.

Sadly his finishing is poor. That aside I love him wherever he plays.

He does much better than expected at right wing back, but right now we need him up front. Chapou isn't a striker and hasn't enough energy to play as our only striker up top. He isn't quick enough either for us to play counter-attacking football, so for me Diouf must play on top. If Hughes thinks as highly of Edwards as he says he should play at right wing back or Cameron. Diouf on top for me unless we buy someone better to play there. Even Berahino showed in his short showing yesterday that he is better suited than Chapou to play up front. Much better at holding the ball up than Chapou.

If you haven't seen it already it's worth taking a look at his pre-match interview for the Watford game on the Stoke City+ player thing on the Official Site.
He seems a very nice fella who clearly thinks deeply about the game.
But the funny part is that when he is asked about playing wing back he clearly thinks the very notion is both ridiculous and hilarious and is clear its not really for him but because he is real 'team player' he'll still give it his best shot.

"He's playing very well. He played exceptionally well last weekend. He still would like to be down the middle, but needs must at the moment"
"In my view, he's our best option when we play 3 at the back with wing-backs"
"He wants to play as a striker - and that's how I see him long-term and that's why I bought him, but at the moment he's serving the team exceptionally well as a wing-back"
Wonder if we're looking to buy a right wing-back in January then? Edwards isn't going to get more ready by sitting on the bench? (if he's considered the answer there in the short/medium/long?-term) (and neither is obviously-not-ready Tymon going to make strides towards displacing the equally-not-a-wing-back Pieters?) What is the time frame in mind for the young wing-backs? And do we need to buy senior players as a bridge before they're ready?

We need to buy a proper right wing back and get rid of Johnson in January! Then we can play Mame up top unless we can bring even better quality in to play on top for us!
