I think I prefer this name even over Joris. 'FILTHY. PIECE. OF. TOERAG' F-POT Sheikh, that vox pop looks a bit staged to Mendicant. Notice how the lady has her coat open at the top and the lapels (?) pushed back. That's how news correspondants usually have their coat. You never see anyone else in Britain with the coat done up like that.

Why go ahead with something that is known ( supposedly), to make us worse off? Even though I admit to voting leave, it does not make sense to me!

A bit like the damage done if we suffer a corbyn government Nowt really to do with Johnson or Corbyn and really how that bank sees how the economy would perform under No Deal or No Brexit. It doesn't seem to have factored in to its forecast the impact of specific party policies.

The Tory decision to pass on the fee for the over 75 to receive free tv in a âbehind closed doorsâ decision was âflawedâ, according to a cross party select committee.
The idea of putting what is essentially a benefit administration onto a tv broadcaster is a nonsense & outside their remit.
It seems to be outside the governments remit also...

The Government should, IMO, have taken the bull by the horns and addressed the bigger question of the overall funding of the BBC rather than fudge it with the bizarre arrangement that meant the BBC itself took on the responsibility. That said the BBC did take on that responsibility so they should have discharged it for the period of the current settlement rather than abandoning it. Whatâs needed now, rather than a debate about about what should be done with a licence for over 75s, is a fundamental review of what the BBC should be in the third decade of the 21st century. The current licence fee makes no sense. I would either strip itâs remit right back to the barest fundamentals - basically news and public information and everything else (entertainment, sports etc) goes or abandon the licence fee altogether and have it compete for viewer subscriptions commercially.

I think that says more about the BBC management than the Government.
