Could’ve been on the treatment table at Stoke.

Would rather start Champions League games on 90,000k a week rather than competing with Charlie Adam at Stoke for the CM role.
Some people.

Put in a very impressive performance as well.

Put in a very impressive performance as well. I often wondered if Hughes was considering him for left wing back. If he managed to do a decent job at left back job maybe he could have played successfully at left wing back.

Bloody hell John-as you are leader of the grammar police-you must be disappointed with the use of job twice in the same sentence?

Cooper, you do know he's going to be watching you like a bloody hawk now, don't you? Sometimes my punctuation can leave a lot to be desired, but my spelling is normally up too standard. I hope?

As things stand it seems, to me, as though Delph made the correct decision in the summer

A couple of decent performances as emergency left-back and Bob's your uncle. That really says it all about our midfield depth (and the obvious big club selection bias) I think Davies from Everton may be the medium-term answer.

That really says it all about our midfield depth (and the obvious big club selection bias) I think Davies from Everton may be the medium-term answer. Tbf Delph has been involved with England for a long time, but his injuries have stopped him playing - he is now fit so why not call him back up? He's better than Livermore & Henderson put together. To think a load of people on here were saying they wouldnt want him at Stoke...

Requirements for an England call up:
Plays for one of the top six - tick Has shown he can run around a little bit free from injury - tick Can play in midfield where our resources are wafer thin - tick

He is better than Livermore and I don't think there's much of an argument there.
And probably Henderson too.
And Drinkwater. And probably Clucas and Noble.
Chalobah is injured long-term
And sadly is that all the realistic contenders?
Loftus-Cheek is a different kind of player
Ward-Prowse?
Tom Davies is the one that's really caught my eye, but has only made the U21s.
Hayden at Newcastle? Cork at Burnley? Carroll at Swansea?
Is Will Hughes starting at Watford?
At least the odious Wilshere is never mentioned these days.
No doubt Winks at Spurs will soon get a mention
We're basically choosing from about 10-12 players.

Delph is good enough for England but not for man city ...end of that's the way it goes and that's how shit England are (especially under dross gate)
