Lisbon reporting West Ham for tapping up. West Ham sending email to prove they made 25m bid in 3 instalments. Bet their fans are loving that deal stinks of cheapskates. Always seems to be the Hammers will be interested to see how the tapping up investigation goes.

And they made bid in euros so by the time second and third payments made possibility that the cost is lower than £25m They were asking Lisbon to take the currency risk Smacks of Karen Brady ?

Given that Sporting will presumably compile their accounts in euros then doesn't bidding in euros guarantee Sporting price certainty with West Ham taking the currency risk?? ie £25m at todays price is €27m Whatever happens Sporting will get their €27m whether that costs WHU £25m, £20m or even £30m (though in practice they'd probably forward hedge)

Transfers across Europe are priced in Euros - for the simple reason that the huge majority of clubs in Europe use the Euro as their currency. For clubs in the UK I expect the deal is probably priced in £s - but not for any deal involving a non UK club on one side of the transaction. It is priced in Euros and then a club in a non Euro country converts the deal into its own currency when it is included in the club accounts.

It will go nowhere as there are too many west ham people at the FA how else do you think they got the Olympic stadium and an exemption from the rules of moving into another clubs catchment area!!

Such hypocrisy
I heard David Gold not long ago bemoaning how Payet was tapped up illegally

The e-mails are more embarrassing than what they're proving wrong.
It's like a child wrote them.

I think people are so impressed by what Hernandez can do, they're completely blind to what he can't do. Those 15 goals a season he might score (is he realistically going to beat that playing for West Ham and now half the player he was 5 or so years ago?) are completely negated by the fact you can't get out of your own half for any length of time because he can't hold the ball up for even a few seconds. It's the same with Defoe for me. Absolutely brilliant back when 2 up front was all the rage, but now on his own his decent goal tally is so valued everybody ignores the fact games become like defence against attack training sessions. If they had wingers who would run with the ball they might get away with it, but a set for life Arnie and Ayew don't seem too keen to really exert themselves in that way, and they've turned their nose up at Snodgrass. Sunderland seemingly didn't realise it, and I'm hoping West Ham don't either. Unfortunately with Carroll always managing to get a few games in a season they'll probably win enough to stay out of serious trouble. Probably so blinded by their 'Academy of football' nonsense they don't realise it's soleyly down to Carroll and Antonio being a couple of highly effective battering rams up front As for us, I think our defence and keeper are so strong right now I'm not really worried at all. Using your description - Berahino sounds like Hernandez but without the goals His general involvement in games is virtually non-existent If reports were correct though Berahino's initial transfer fee was at most 10 million, which we are likely to get a large chunk back if we decide to get rid given his age. Hughes seems to have given up on him to be honest. When he was in form for West Brom he was Vardy esque, constantly making runs off and on the ball to really stretch the opposition defence. Sadly it looks like those days aren't showing any signs of coming back any time soon.

We will finish above them.
They have lost their way off the field and we have very stable and sensible ownership.
I think maybe not this year but they have relegationwritten all over them.
Maybe history dictates they have been a bigger club than us but they are yesterday's hero's and we are on the way up.

I like Bilic - but he seems stressed and could easily be the first manager to go. I think we'll do better than them this year but I think they're' sufficiently strong to fend of relegation.
