I think you're a fucking disgrace of a man if you would consider blocking someone for having a different opinion. A pathetic, spineless fucking pussy who I would be ashamed to know personally. If you want to just masturbate over self-validation by having everything agreed with by living in a self-created echo chamber you're lower than vermin. If you can't handle opposing points of view, if you can't argue your point with ferocity and conviction, and the only way you can cope with that is by hiding away, your opinion is worth precisely jack fucking shit. If it's not strong enough to hold up on its own merit and withstand criticism, it's a good bet to assume it's wrong. What's worse is somehow celebrating this blocking like it's cool or a badge of honour. I'm not a Tory but on my FB in the build up to the election, there were loads of Labour voters self-congratulating and slimily patting themsleves on the back by bragging about blocking Conservatives. I just thought... "What a child". You're perfectly entitled to remove yourself from anything you don't like / find offensive / are too weak to argue against but it's a well pussified thing to do. Don't beat about the bush Phil-tell it like it is.

I think that it is up to you what you want to do. You mention arguing your points with ferocity and conviction? How many threads on here have been pages of pointless point scoring? Just descending into my dads bigger than your dad? I have blocked one - and, IMO, that person had no respect for anyone else's opinion. It was self destructive to engage with them - I have more interests than to be dragged down by their, again IMO, bigotry. Also, anyone who insults someone else, surely has lost the argument? To discuss, there must be respect? If you insult, how can that be respectful?
